Hi everyone,

I have my first 2 months completed at Wiltshire Creative and it has flown by. I have met loads of lovely artists and look forward to meeting many more in the months to come.

I have managed to book a few of you into our spaces to write, devise and rehearse. I am excited to see what gems will emerge from this.

If you haven't managed to get in touch, not to worry, I'm just an email away.

I held my first open office last week and it was so fabulous meeting so many of you. My head was spinning by the end of the day. We also had our scratch night with 5 wonderful performances. It is always such a pleasure to see work in the early stages of development. I am excited to see how the pieces progress.

Lot's of lovely information below and don't forget to tell your friends about this newsletter and get them to sign up here

This is a short one this month, as I wanted to let you know what was happening. Watch out for more news soon.

Making your own theatre - Producing Workshop with Lizzie Stables

As artists, we often hear that the best thing we can do is to make our own work. The question is how, and where do you start? In this two-hour workshop, we will explore ways to approach getting projects off the ground - looking at the process of creating a show from the seed of an idea through to production.

Lizzie Stables is an actress, theatre producer and Artistic Director of Folio Theatre Company, which she formed in 2015 in order to create and produce new plays for touring. Folio's debut show, Unearthed, received critical acclaim and was subsequently listed in The Guardian as one of their readers' favourite stage shows of 2015. Folio's next production, The Edit, will tour in Spring 2019 in association with Wiltshire Creative, premiering at Salisbury Playhouse's Salberg Theatre. @lizzie_js / @foliotheatre / www.foliotheatre.co.uk

OpenOffice - Book a slot and come and have a chat with me about your work

This is a great opportunity to meet and have a chat. I can give advice, talk through your work, or we can just talk about life and our inspirations.  Send me an email and I'll book you in.

Physical Theatre Workshop:  May 24th, 10 - 5pm.

What is physical theatre? How do we create physical narratives on stage? What is like to be part of a company that dedicates itself to a sustained embodied training?

In this workshop, participants have the opportunity to dive into the world of physical storytelling, encounter physical vocabularies and training techniques that will enhance their articulation, presence, fluidity and expression, and create dynamic physical scores that will form the groundwork for story, character and drama.

Working from dreams, tales and memories, participants will be led through a focused, playful and energetic encounter of body; learning how to use the body as intricately as a classical actor uses text. Participants will work both individually and in partners on physical scores, as well as learn the qualities and discipline behind ensemble theatre. This workshop is for artists of all kinds and people interested in theatre and the embodied arts.

Henry McGrath is an actor and theatre director. He was a principal performer at the award-winning and internationally acclaimed Polish company, Song of the Goat theatre. He is Artistic Director at Eden’s Cave Theatre, a laboratory theatre ensemble based in the Forest of Dean. He has worked with Amit Lahav, director of Gecko Theatre, the BBC, Mechanimal and is Deputy Artistic Director at Animikii Theatre, an award winning physical theatre company based in Manchester. He teaches acting and the embodied arts at drama schools and institutions across the country.

£20 per person, save the date and I'll send out the ways to book soon.
