June 2019

Thank you to the voters in Salem Central School District
Bancroft Public Library’s Board of Trustees would like to sincerely thank the voters in the Salem Central School district who supported the library in the vote on May 21. Since our budget increase was approved, the new library hours are as follows:
Monday 1 – 6 PM
Tuesday 1 – 8 PM
Wednesday 10 AM – 6 PM
Thursday 1 – 8 PM
Friday 1 – 6 PM
Saturday 10 AM – 2 PM

We immediately began the process of upgrading our internet connection to provide faster internet service to the community, and as of just this morning we do have faster service in place!

Information and referral services are now being offered on Thursday evenings from 5 - 7 or by appointment during the rest of the week. (Please see the flyer below for more details.)
Library grounds will now be tobacco-free:
According to NY state law, starting June 19, smoking inside of or within one hundred feet of the entrances, exits or outdoor areas of any public or association library is not allowed. At Bancroft Public Library, we have adopted a tobacco-free policy, and you will see signs posted around the building. Additionally, we have information and support resources for quitting smoking available in the library. The signs and information have been provided by the Living Tobacco-Free Initiative, a grant funded program through Glens Falls Hospital, which coordinates with organizations in the region to reduce tobacco exposure.
