#DITCHMITCH INDIVISIBLE CALL

ADVOCATE FOR SECURE ELECTIONS

Is there anything more important than secure elections in 2020? The recently introduced PAVE (Protect American Votes & Elections) Act is crucial for securing 2020 from hacking and must be passed by NOV 2019 to go into effect by NOV 2020. Senators Warren and Markey are cosponsors of the Senate bill (S.1472). Currently NO reps from MA are cosponsoring the companion House Bill (HR2754) - please use this script to contact your reps and urge them to COSPONSOR it. Please also thank our Senators and urge your friends and family in other states to contact their MoCs.

SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON IMPEACHMENT

Robert Mueller’s brief press conference last Wednesday sent shock waves through the political system by making it clear that, contrary to Attorney General Bill Barr’s assertions, the Mueller Report did not in any way exonerate President Trump. He didn’t charge Trump with a crime, because he could not charge a sitting president with a crime - only Congress can hold a president accountable. He didn’t name the constitutional process to do that, but, as this article argues, clearly he meant impeachment.

Right now, there’s a divide within the House Democratic Caucus. A growing number of representatives are calling for an impeachment inquiry - the beginning of investigations that could lead to impeachment. Many of the House Democratic Leaders, however, are concerned about the political risks of impeachment. They want to keep the attention on legislation the House is passing, while various committees pursue investigations and turn to the courts to handle unprecedented administration stonewalling. Speaker Pelosi will listen to her caucus, and her caucus will listen to its constituents, so we hold the power to shape how Congress acts.

Indivisible has an opinion on impeachment, but wants to hear from its members to decide how to prioritize and focus its actions. Use this link to tell Indivisible how you feel about impeachment.

FIGHT FOR OUR FUTURE

THURSDAY, JUNE 6

See this link for more details and to purchase tickets ($10).
