This year, the City's annual Remembrance Day ceremony will be livestreamed via social media platforms.

The livestream will begin at 10:45 a.m. on the City of Chestermere's YouTube page.

COVID-Safe Ways to Honour our Veterans:

  • Celebrate in the local Remembrance Day Service via Youtube live stream in the comfort of your home.
  • Join us in a community wide front porch vigil 11 a.m. for two minutes of silence.
  • After the service, the Cenotaph will be open from 12 p.m. - 4 p.m. to the public for those who would like to lay a wreath and give their respect.
  • Show your support by decorating your windows with poppies.
  • Donate to the Veteran’s Food Bank.
  • Purchase a wreath from the Royal Canadian Legion.

A COVID Update from Mayor Chalmers:

Due to this increase, Council, as the Emergency Management Committee, is considering whether we need to implement more stringent measures to stop the spread of the virus and to protect our community.

The evidence says that the spread is most likely happening through personal connections at private gatherings, not generally at grocery stores or at businesses.
