DORSET COUNCIL PLANNING | It was good to see so many member councils sending out representatives to this meeting today. It's important to get your views across and also that all important update on the Local Plan.

Well DAPTC has entered the NALC Star Awards County Association Project of Year category. This is centred on the conduct training and launch of the digital submission of Registers of Interest in 2021. If you have filled one in or are a clerk that now doesn't have to print and scan the old forms - tell us what a difference it has made, especially if you want to see me, Debbie and Lisa trip going to the stage and then make a gushing plea for world peace and thank a long list of friends, family and anyone we've ever bumped into. WORKING TOGETHER WEBINARS - Community Resilience & Severe Weather Events | 21st June 2022 at 4:00pm is the next scheduled webinar that's FREE. Registrations are already coming in for this session. There have been the odd glitch like some duplication of emails but other than that the new storage capacity is up and working. Any other teething issues we will work through with you on a case by case basis. If you are contemplating upgrading we can still do this for you - just email and we can chat further.

** NEW ** 1. PCC David Sidwick and CC Scott Chilton chat live next week
The Police and Crime Commissioner for Dorset, David Sidwick will be joined by the Chief Constable Scott Chilton , in a Facebook Live chat to talk about the progress of David's Police and Crime Plan 'One Year On' and the Chief Constable's 'Policing Vision for Dorset' at 6.30pm on Monday 30th May 2022.
They will be talking about the work that's been happening both behind the scenes and on the streets to keep the public safe. Follow Dorset Police and Crime Commissioner or Dorset Police on Facebook, @PCCDorset or @dorsetpolice on Twitter and @pccdorset or @dorset_police on Instragram.
There will also be a live stream on Facebook to give members of the public the opportunity to ask questions.
** NEW ** 2. APSE allotments 2022 survey
The Association of Public Sector Excellence (APSE) are undertaking their annual allotments survey
Their State of the Market survey is used by councils, allotments groups and the horticultural and national media as a source of information as to the health and popularity of the UK allotments scene.
The survey is seeking your opinion on the state of allotments, together with the main issues affecting councils relating to their provision and maintenance. The deadline for completing the survey is 3 June 2022.
** NEW ** 3. Have your say on Direct Funding for Local Councils
NALC are seeking your input on a survey they are conducting around the funding of parish and town councils. Please complete the survey to provide information on your council.
The survey can be found here. The deadline for completion is 15th June 2022.
** NEW ** 4. Arnold-Baker on Local Council Administration
The Arnold-Baker on Local Council Administration publication is a complete statement of the law relating to parish and community councils, in the form of an extensive though succinct narrative accompanied by comprehensive statutory materials.
Now in its thirteenth edition, 'the yellow book' remains the key text for local councils.
You can now pre-order the book here. The book is £137 for SLCC members and £163 for non-members through SLCC or buy direct from Lexis Nexisfor £164.99. The publication date is set for 22nd October 2022.
5. Mobile Alteau Flood Barrier - Free to a good home!
The Clerk at Burton Bradstock Parish Council has been in touch to let us know that the parish council have an inflatable mobile flood barrier available to any parish council that would be able to make use of it.
