3.   A cautionary tale - what to avoid during the External Audit process

The SAAA are mentioned in the introduction of this newsletter, and they have recently added a
new Blog to the NALC website. The Blog, entitled A parish council's failings - A cautionary tale from the Smaller Authorities' Audit Appointments give details of how a small parish council ended up with a Public Interest Report and a large invoice from their External Auditors due to a series of mistakes that could have easily been avoided.  It is definitely worth a read.

Can you help with Dorset Council's campaign to help tackle a shortage of foster carers?

Dorset Council are currently running a campaign to increase the number of foster carers within the county and have developed a range of promotional material including posters, leaflets and digital communications.

Would your council be willing to help them get the word out by placing leaflets and
posters in your public spaces?  Any help would be really appreciated.

Please contact Tilly Trinder at Dorset Council for the printed copies of the promotional materials and any further information.
