Hi Everyone

First of all a few new announcements to make:

NEW - DAPTC ARE OFFERING CiLCA MENTORING IN COUNTY | We have opted to run CiLCA mentoring and support in Dorset from the latter part of 2022 and will have a dedicated resource and one to one support from DAPTC for those that enrol. Furthermore I hope to announce some support for smaller parishes that often find funding CiLCA for their Clerks a challenge. More to follow.... read up on our dedicated CiLCA Mentor

NEW - CLERKS' CONFERENCE 14th September 2022 at Kingston Maurward | We will soon be opening up the registration process for the event having taken some initial feedback from delegates. I'm pleased to say we have some fabulous guests on standby and some great content that will get you contributing and chatting on the day. Look out for the registration process opening email and make sure you get it sent in! A dedicated webpage will be ready soon to let you know about the content being covered and guests.

NEW - SMALL PARISH CLERK/RFO FINANCE BASICS | These are small sessions with new Clerks to handle the immediate priorities when you are new to role. Scroll to the bottom of this link and then follow the instructions to register. FINANCE BASICS

FINANCE TRAINING FOR CLERKS & COUNCILLORS | Now is the time to start booking for refreshers on budgeting and general finance training. We will be through Summer shortly and into the Autumn when budget discussions for 2023/24 will start!
  • New clerks/RFOs would really benefit from the budgeting sessions so please take a look urgently as spaces book quickly.
  • If VAT is your thing -  The Parkinson Partnership, have a NEW VAT training session covering 'VAT - partial exemption' on 22 November 2022.
  • On the subject of VAT, The Parkinson Partnership have split their VAT training into two separate sessions VAT for unregistered councils (VAT126) and VAT for VAT registered councils.

STAR AWARDS 2021/22 | You will of all received your certificates from what was a record year in terms of training numbers in Dorset. Thanks for your support and we hope you continue to attend and take part! We will issue a Star Awards Newsletter in the coming weeks to showcase councils.

Congratulations to Sarah Mitchell, clerk to both Holwell Parish Council and Buckland Newton Parish Council, on her significant achievement in passing the Certificate of Local Council Administration (CiLCA) award.
