Here’s what’s happening in Austin.

Happy National Relaxation Day, Austin! Whatever your preferred method of self-care entails, I hope you take some time to do just that today. Speaking of, I can’t think of a more relaxing way to start the day than with a cup of coffee and the latest news from the ATX health and fitness scene.

🥜 Go Nuts!

Health-minded foodies, we’ve got some news. All-vegan grocery store, Rabbit Food Grocery, has added a handful of delicious new almond butters to their shelves. Head on over to their Exposition Boulevard location to pick up a jar of the non-GMO, gluten-free, paleo-friendly Base Culture almond butter — available in original, maple, and cinnamon flavors!

👏 Get A Hold Of This

Here’s the tea, climbers: Crux Climbing Center has not only put up new routes, but they’ve installed new holds, too! Drop in and challenge yourself this week, and circle back on August 24 for free admission in honor of The North Face’s Global Climbing Day.

🥙 You’ll Want A Pita This

Rejoice, hummus-lovers, because Middle Eastern-inspired eatery MezzeMe Turkish Kitchen is opening a second location on the Drag next month. With customizable grain bowls, salads, and pitas, plus tasty add-ons like zucchini yogurt with dill and walnut and spicy tabouli (not to mention plenty of vegetarian options), we know where we’ll be having lunch for the foreseeable future.

🏕 Just Trees & A Tiny Home

In need of a nature-filled escape not too far from the city? You’re in luck — Getaway Cabins recently revealed they’ve opened an Outpost in East Texas. At just three hours away from Austin, we’re convinced it’s going to be your new go-to destination for a weekend trip.

🌿 CBD Sweets & Sips

Soon, there’s going to be a new place to chill out in South Austin. CBD cafe and bakery Nature’s Joint has announced plans to open up a second location on Manchaca Road. We’re already drooling over the thought of their homemade brownies, honey, peanut butter cups, popsicles, and teas — all infused with CBD, of course. Keep an eye on their Instagram for upcoming info on the opening date.
