Here’s what’s happening in Los Angeles.

What’s up, Los Angeles? Quick announcement: we revamped our newsletter. Say hello to Fitt Weekly.

Every Thursday, we’ll send you a rundown of what’s happening in LA’s health and fitness scene — handpicked by local contributors and editors, like me. From events and exclusive content to shoutouts and more, we hope you like what you see. Let’s just jump right into it.

🥑 Rolling in the Green

Sushi has gone plant-based. Japanese restaurant trio ROKU, Sushi Roku, and Katana Los Angeles recently debuted a four-course vegan Omakase menu. Get ready for nigiri, rolls, and dishes made with mushrooms, tofu, miso eggplant, and all sorts of flavor-packed veggies. On the off chance you’re still not convinced to make a reservation this week, we’ll leave you with this: Vegan Chocolate Avocado Mousse.

🍽 Sans-Meat Specials

Spring has officially sprung at Veggie Grill, and they’re celebrating with a collab with local plant-based hot spot Cena Vegan. The pair have put their heads together to create a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich crafted with vegan (and gluten-free!) meat and topped with coleslaw and onion rings. Stop by any of Veggie Grill’s 15 locations in the Greater LA area to dig into the delicious handheld and other items on their spring menu.

🚲 Along for the Ride

Your indoor cycling workout just got an upgrade. Boutique fitness studio and LA fave The Wall has revealed a new class. Wimberride 2.0 will have you climbing, sprinting, and dancing your way through 45 minutes of adrenaline-fueled bliss. But that’s not all — the high-energy sweat session also includes their new arm series featuring WIMBERBANDs. Full-body workout? Check.

🔥 Fancy Flows

Luxury hot yoga. Could it be? Well, come May, you’ll be able to experience it for yourself because Shanti Yoga is opening a studio in Culver City. In the meantime, stop by for a sneak peek of the space or check out their final free, pre-opening community event at Trunk Club. You’ll flow through a Vinyasa class set to live music, relax and clear your mind during a sound bath session, and gather with fellow yogis over a vegan dinner catered by Sage Plant Based Bistro. Sounds like our kind of Saturday!

Children's Burn Foundation x Barry's Bootcamp, Hustle For That Muscle!
LA’s OG tread interval training workout is hosting an all-levels class to benefit the Children’s Burn Foundation. You’ll run, lift, and sweat your way through a heart-pumping workout, then refuel with a complimentary pressed juice and healthy snacks. The best part? 100% of the proceeds will go toward providing burn recovery programs for children ages 0-18 years. How’s that for a win-win?

Yoga and Easter Brunch with Ocean Views
What could be better than a relaxing yoga class with ocean views? How about an Easter brunch to follow? You’ll start off with a Vinyasa flow on the outdoor deck at CURE, breathe in the fresh ocean air, then finish with some light eats as you take in the picturesque scenery.

Wanderlust 108 - Los Angeles
What do a 5k run, an outdoor yoga flow class, and a guided meditation have in common? They’re all part of the empowering day that is Wanderlust 108 Los Angeles. After the triathlon, you can take your pick between aerial yoga (think: bow pose in a hammock), hula hooping, walking meditation, and more. And, yes, there will be healthy bites to fuel you throughout the day. Even better? If you can’t make it Saturday, they’ll be doing it all over again on Sunday.

🛌 In Other News

Outdoor movie screenings are nothing new in LA, but we bet you’ve never been to one where you can watch your favorite film in bed. Enter: Bed Cinema, a new concept coming soon to Venice (in August, to be exact). So, what exactly does a ticket buy you? A double bed complete with pillows, a blanket, an LED-lit nightstand, and a blockbuster film. Prepare to kick back, get cozy, and experience an outdoor movie like you never have before. Until then, join their email list to stay up-to-date on the deets.

Shout Outs

Last week, Fitt LA Creator @shamoothefoodie stopped by organic, plant-based restaurant Real Food Daily to check out their Heart of Palm Tacos wrapped in a jicama tortilla, and they did not disappoint! This week, we’ll be stopping by vegan- and vegetarian-friendly eatery Sqirl to get a feel for the space and see what they’re whipping up. Plus, tune into our Instagram story this Friday to catch a look at the newly-released “Vegan Green Planet” ice cream from Van Leeuwen and MatchaBar!
