Earth Day is over, but we’re still seeing green. As we figure out a way to get outside while dodging the rain, take a look at the latest and greatest happenings in the Steel City’s health and fitness scene.

🍎 Sweat for Cider

Threadbare Cider and Mead is bringing back its Spring Garden Stair Stepping Tour! Join Laura Zurowski, aka @Mis.Steps, and the crew at Threadbare for an outdoor fitness trek on some of the steepest stairs in Spring Garden and Troy Hill. A tour of the cider house and a few samples are included in the ticket. The April kickoff is already sold out, but don’t worry: the monthly series will continue through November, so you’ll have plenty of chances to find your stride.

🚲 Wheelie Fun

Pedaling around the city is a whole lot easier now that Healthy Ride opened a new station on Duquesne’s campus, just in time for warmer weather. Brush up on your bike safety rules and head over to the station at Forbes Ave. and McAnulty Dr. to check it out, hop on a bike, and ride!

🌽 Farm Fresh

You know summer is just around the corner when farmers markets start popping up, and the Market Square Farmers Market just announced its opening day. Celebrate the market’s 15th season every Thursday starting May 16. Show up for a farm-fresh lunch and catch a free concert while stocking up on produce, organic dairy products, fresh-pressed juices, and more. See you at the Square!

This is kind of a big dill. Picklesburgh 2019 is branching out beyond the Sixth St. Bridge. The fifth annual festival is expanding to the riverside lanes of Fort Duquesne Blvd. to accommodate the massive crowd and give you easier access to vendors. The USA Today-ranked “Best Specialty Food Festival” in America will be hitting the streets July 26–28. Subscribe to the Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership’s newsletter for the latest Picklesburgh-related updates.

The Eagle is building a new nest in Pittsburgh. The full-service eatery will be heading to the corner of 8th St. and Penn Ave. later this fall. The food and beer hall is already popular in its four Midwest spots, and with menu items like brown sugar bacon, Tuscan kale salad, and crispy chicken served with spicy hot honey, it’s easy to see why. Stay tuned for more details.
