🍃 The Best Things In Life Are Free

It’s a good weekend for a road trip because entrance to national parks is free this Sunday in celebration of the National Park Service’s birthday! Pack your swimsuit — the closest getaway from Austin is the Padre Island National Seashore at a little under four hours away.

👍 Walls Are Meant For Climbing

The North Face’s Global Climbing Day is here! If you’ve never taken part in the annual event, now is your chance because two of our favorite local spots, Austin Bouldering Project and Crux Climbing Center, have fun-filled celebrations in store. Enjoy free entrance to ABP from 9am-12pm, followed by a friendly Boulderpoint competition from 2pm-8pm, a live DJ at 7pm, free beer, and more! And if you’re in South Austin, stop by Crux Climbing for free entrance from 10am-1pm, raffles, and local vendors. Enjoy your ascent!

🙁 One Last Flight

Sad news, cyclists. Flywheel Sports is closing 12 studios across the country, including our very own spot in The Domain. Their last day of classes is August 29, so make sure to get one last sweat sesh in before then. Luckily, there are plenty of other amazing cycling studios across the city to discover!

☕️ New Brews on Shoal Creek

Here in Austin, we’ve got a pretty standout coffee scene — which means we know a good coffee concept when we see one. That’s why we’re super excited about the recent opening of Intelligentsia Coffee’s first Austin (and Texas) location! How recent you say? Yesterday! Head over to W 3rd and Shoal Creek for their artfully-crafted cups and uniquely-designed space while they’ve still got that new coffee shop smell.

🔥 Bringin’ Back The Burn To South Lamar

One of our favorite barre-centric studios, MOD Fitness, has announced plans to reopen a location on South Lamar! We’re keeping our eyes peeled for an opening date and official address, but in the meantime, you can sweat and stretch it out at their Burnet spot.

🎉 The Revolution’s Back On!

After a hiatus all-vegan BBQ truck BBQ Revolution, is back in action! You can now find them next to Possum Pizza in the food truck park on Oltorf and South 1st. Make sure to follow their Instagram for “sold out” notices — here’s to hoping we can get our hands on their sought-after tempeh ribs.

🌴 In Other News

Bust out your Hawaiian shirt before summer’s over because there’s a colorful new bar on Nueces and W 6th Street. It’s called Cat’s Pajamas, and so far, the name seems pretty fitting. From the delicious-looking piña colada to the poke from Poke Me Long Time, there’s plenty of enticing reasons to explore this island-inspired watering hole.

Jenn Wooten of Practice Yoga is back in the studio after a year abroad! Stop by the East Austin spot to attend one of her classes and give her a warm welcome home.
We’re sending a huge congrats to Lizzie DeLacey of DeLacey Wellness in Houston. She just launched an app called Bodypeace aimed at helping as many people as possible grow into the best version of themselves. That’s a goal we can get behind!
