Beer Butt Chicken Dinner Recap
The combination of the weather, food, music and good company made for an all around fantastic party. A BIG thanks to the Curtis family and slipholder cooking crew for setting up, prepping, cooking and serving at least 150 slipholders and guests. They served delicious chicken, homemade french fries and funnel cakes, local corn and coleslaw. Thanks to all the slipholders that brought sides and deserts to share. We couldn’t have done it without your help.

Tri-State Marine Tackle Shop
The tackle shop and fuel dock are open daily from 6 am until 6 pm. The fish are biting and they are stocked up on a variety of live and frozen bait. Alewives, peeler crabs, nightcrawlers, minnows, squid and many more options. Check out their facebook page for updates and new arrivals.

16th Annual Kent Island Youth Fishing Derby - Saturday, August 20th
Grab a fishing rod from our local West Marine and head to the 16th Annual Kent Island Youth Fishing Derby on Saturday, August 20th. Age groups are 3-5, 6-10, and, 11-16 years old. All participants must be accompanied by a parent or adult. Registration begins at 8 am on Romancoke Pier with fishing from 9 to 11 am, and prizes and refreshments starting at 11:30 am. Bring your own fishing rods, bait is provided. Prizes will be awarded for Largest Fish, Smallest Fish, Most Unique Fish, and Most Fish Caught in each age group.

Dragon Boat Festival- August 27
Come be part of the 11th Annual End Hunger Dragon Boat Festival and spend the day in North Beach. You will enjoy a family friendly atmosphere, the dragon boat races, and more! Best of all, you will be part of our community coming together to support End Hunger In Calvert County.
