It’s hard to believe that the League year is almost over. Despite this year perhaps not going as we would have expected with regard to the state of our world, I’m so proud of how we have been able to adapt and find community even in the midst of chaos and the unexpected. We are a strong, empowering and dynamic group of women and I am so honored to have been able to serve as your leader this year. That being said, it’s time to pass the torch the next group of leaders. So, please be sure and recognize those who have served by nominating someone for membership awards, voting for our slate (this is a requirement for all active members) and voting for our budget to ensure that all of our good work continues. I’ll see y’all next week!

- We distributed 83,328 in March - Total for this year is 215,242!
- The diaper need working group met for the first time. Charity and Amanda were present along with representatives from the Vermont Foodbank, DCF, Building Bright Futures, and the Parent Child Center Network. We will expand the group once we devise the meeting schedule and overall plan, but it was heartening to see others truly engaged in this issue and beginning to work on finding a more sustainable solution.
- Our advocacy work will continue over the next few months at the statehouse as we attempt to get ideally $180,000 of funding to run operations for the next year, so we don't see a service disruption or reduction.
- We have a few diaper repackaging dates coming up in April, so be sure to sign up on the website!

SUSTAINER PROFILE: KIT ANTINOZZI
|
|
Name: Kit Antinozzi
Member Since:1995
Committees:Community Projects, Fundraising, Admin, Recording Secretary (2006-2008)
|
|
|
Kit joined JLCV in 1995, when the organization was still a Junior Service League. At the time, she was raising her children and running a yarn store with her husband in Burlington, Vermont. She had long been active in community service and volunteering, but it was a chance encounter with Cathy Foutz during a prenatal swim class that got her interested and involved with the Junior League.
In the years leading up to full accreditation as a Junior League chapter, members were expected to serve on no fewer than 3 committees. During these years, Kit worked with Cathy Foutz (who was President of the League), Sandy Giroux, Ginger Morton, Vicki Hildebrandt, Virginia Keyser, and Ann Irwin on projects as wide-ranging at the annual ice show, camp knock-knock, and re-decorating rooms at the UVM Breast cancer (UHC) center. Many of these amazing women also stepped forward to provide references as Kit re-entered the workforce, as her children grew.
Volunteering for these events not only meant planning, organizing, publicizing, but even skating in the two ice shows at Gutterson!
Kit’s favorite JLCV memories?
Skating with Cathy Foutz in Junior League ice shows, which featured such notable skaters as: Brian Boitano (1986 and 1988 World Champion), Elvis Stojko, Tiffany Scott and Phil Dulebohn.
Thoughts on JLCV in 2022?
The diaper bank is a wonderful project and a true service to the community! My family and I have done a family packaging night together and I will be going back over in April. The ability to impact the community in such a positive way continues to inspire me.
About Kit
Kit holds a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University. She met her husband in grad school while they both earned their MBAs from the Johnson School at Cornell. This year, her son will graduate with a degree in Jazz performance from the Berklee College of Music in Boston. Her other son is living in Utah and is a graduate of the University of Utah. When not enjoying the beauty of the west during their family visits, Kit enjoys quilting and doing needle arts.
