With March upon us I'm so looking forward to Spring! My family and I make maple syrup and while I love lugging buckets around in the snow, when we get to the finished product I know that warm weather can only be a few weeks away! WIth that in mind I am looking forward to some outdoor socials and seeing more of you in person (while still following strict Covid 19 Protocols).  Please plan on Zooming in to our March 9th General Membership Meeting. Claudia has lined up an excellent speaker/trainer for us and I can't wait to hear her presentation. Also, mark your calendar for our April 14th Community Night at Our House Bistro.
About 5 years ago, Our House Bistro catered my wedding - the food was amazing and we still hear about it.  You will enjoy it!

I know we are getting through some hard times but let's stay positive and continue the good work we are doing. Thank you and if you have any questions, thoughts, or ideas, just let me know!

Yours in Volunteering,

Join us for this month’s training session on Leadership led by Executive Coach and consultant, Susan M. Palmer.

In this exercise, we will use the following definition of Leadership: Leadership is consciously taking responsibility for influencing the purposeful behavior of others.

Though we can often identify and define leadership we see in others, we sometimes fail to recognize our own moments of personal leadership.

Susan will lead us on an exercise to uncover our innate leadership skills. Join us for a vibrant and energizing session with Susan Palmer on March 9, 2021

Executive Coach Biography: Susan M. Palmer, PCC

Susan Palmer serves an international clientele of individuals and organizations dedicated to elevating their leadership agility, creativity and effectiveness in complex environments.  Since 2009, Susan has worked with scores of non-profit, higher education, public sector and socially-conscious for-profit leaders in over a dozen countries.

Prior to establishing her leadership coaching, training and consulting practice, Susan was the Dean of Woodbury College (Montpelier, Vermont) and held various other administrative and teaching positions at Woodbury and at Goddard College.  Before she made the career shift to higher education, Susan was a Vermont Assistant Attorney General in Consumer Protection and a Poverty Law Project attorney at Vermont Legal Aid.  Susan became a professional coach when she completed her graduate-level certificate in Leadership Coaching from Georgetown University’s Institute for Transformational Leadership in Washington, D.C.

Susan holds a J.D. from Cornell Law School, a Master’s degree in English Literature from the University of Vermont, where she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow, and a B.A. from Middlebury College.  Susan lives in Montpelier with her artist husband, Chris Jeffrey, and their rescue dog, Ella.

We have already distributed 101,892 diapers so far this year, 2021!!!

Upcoming distribution for which more help is needed:

  • March 9th, 9:30AM-11:30AM: We would love someone(s) to sign up HERE for local distribution.

We are working on some advocacy initiatives and hopefully will secure additional Federal Pandemic Response funding to continue the purchase of diapers and keep up with the incredible demand.

We are hoping to receive a large donation of diapers from Seventh Generation (again!) and are working on getting the logistics for moving (Booska) and storage (UMALL) in place.

And we have received part of a donation from a national organization, Baby2Baby (, of fleece blankets, powdered formula, and children’s coats. We expect to receive baby shampoo soon, with diapers and wipes to come. Baby2Baby secured a large grant with the requirement to distribute to every state, and we are Vermont’s recipient!

If anyone sees possible grant opportunities, please let us know.  We continue to look for funding through multiple sources.

Thanks everyone,
