                  Bwletin
Mehefin // June
    Bulletin

Dyma ni ym mis Mehefin.
Eto, rydym wedi casglu ystod eang o ddolenni sy’n
cyfeirio at gyngor a chefnogaeth rydym yn ystyried
yn ddefnyddiol, dolenni cyfleoedd ymgeisio, pethau
i’w darllen, gwylio a phrofi yn ogystal â
phethau ymarferol i’w gwneud.
                  //

              May came and went and June is here.
              Again, we’ve collected some wide-ranging links to
              advice and support we have found helpful, links to
              things to apply for, to read, watch and experience
              as well as practical things to do.

Mae rhan estynedig o adnoddau wedi ei ddethol gan Holly Davey mis hwn. Gwybodaeth ar ddelio â gorbryder, hunanofal, iechyd meddwl a lles yn ystod ac ar ôl bod dan gyfyngiadau. Rydym yn ymwybodol hefyd fod pobl efallai yn teimlo fod gorlwyth o wybodaeth a dolenni yn eu cyrraedd, felly nodwch y bwletin a chymerwch y darnau defnyddiol gyda chi pan fo angen.

Rydym yn cadw llygad barcud ar ddatblygiadau a newyddion y Coronafeirws ac mae’n ymddangos bod ysgogaeth cyffredin, er dryslyd, i bethau ddychwelyd sut yr oeddynt. Mae’r rhif R yng Nghymru ond "ychydig o dan un" (.7-.9). Mae’r ffigyrau marwolaethau yn dal i fod yn hafal i’r rhai ar ddechrau’r cyfnod dan gyfyngiadau. Ar y foment, nid ydym yn ddigon hyderus i ddewis dyddiad i ail-agor, ond rydym yn edrych ar sut i weithredu mesuriadau pellter cymdeithasol o fewn yr adeilad cyn gynted ac sy’n bosib. Gweler y diweddariadau yma.

Dyna’r pethau ymarferol yn ymwneud a newidiadau. Roedd yn braf darllen “A Note On Voicing” gan INIVA, sy’n cyflwyno rhai o’r newidiadau mwy bydd rhaid digwydd. “Fe all y gwaith ddechrau wrth gyfeirio at yr hyn mae’n golygu i fod yn sefydliad gwrth-hiliol sy’n adlewyrchu hyn, nid yn unig drwy ddatganiadau ond hefyd drwy ein cyflogaeth, yn ein rheolaeth, yn ein rhaglennu, yn ein hymarferiad gwaith gydag artistiaid a’r cyhoedd.”

Trwy gydol y bwletin, mae dolenni wedi eu cynnwys sy’n cyfeirio at adnoddau darllen ac ymarferol eich bod efallai wedi ei fethu os ydych yn osgoi’r cyfryngau cymdeithasol.

Mae’r bwletin wedi cael ei greu gan y pump ohonom sydd ar ôl yn y g39 gwasgaredig, mae croeso i chi gyfrannu neu os oes unrhyw awgrymiadau gennych ar gyfer bwletin mis Gorffennaf, anfonwch nhw at warp@g39.org erbyn diwedd mis Mehefin ac fe drïwn ni eu cynnwys. Rydym yn edrych ‘mlaen at weithio a rhannu’r un gofod a chi.

//

This bulletin is put together by the five of us left in the scattered g39, any contributions and suggestions are welcome for the July bulletin. Send them to warp@g39.org by the end of June and we’ll try to feature them. We look forward to the day we can work from, and share the same space with you all.

This month there’s an expanded section of resources compiled by Holly Davey on dealing with anxiety, self-care, mental health and wellbeing during and after lockdown. We know too that people might feel flooded with information and links, so bookmark the bulletin and take the useful bits with you when you need them.

We are keeping an eye on Coronavirus developments and news as there seems to be a general, but confused, drive toward going back to business. As of today, the R value in Wales is" just below one" (.7-.9). The mortality figures still match those at the start of the lockdown. We still do not feel confident that we can set a date for re-opening, but are looking how to implement social distancing measures within the building as soon as we can go back. We’ll keep you posted here.

Those are the practicalities of changes that are happening. It was good to read INIVAs “A Note On Voicing” that lays out some of the bigger changes that need to happen. "The work can begin by addressing what it means to be an anti-racist institution that reflects this, not only in statements but also in our employment, in our governance, in our programming, in our practice working with artists and the public."

With this in mind, throughout the bulletin we’ve included links to reading and practical resources that you may have missed, if you are totally avoiding social media.

News From Us:

//  Ein Newyddion Ni:

Mae Restless Practice yn brosiect ymchwil
sy’n cael ei rhedeg gan ddwy artist Site Sit (Lauren Heckler + Sophie Lindsey) oedd am gael ei gynnal yn llyfrgell g39 cyn i’r amgylchiadau newid. Rydym wedi bod yn gweithio gyda’r ddwy i raglennu’r prosiect tu allan i’r llyfrgell.Mae’n archwilio ecoleg cynhyrchiant o fewn ymarferiad artistig, i grybwyll pa adnoddau, rhwydwaith mewnol a chysylltiadau sy’n angenrheidiol ar gyfer i ymarferiad cludadwy a safle ymatebol fod yn wir gynialadwy.

Yn y cyd-destun yma, mae ‘restlessness’ neu ‘aflonyddwch’ yn cael ei ddiffinio fel strategaeth gynhyrchiol a llafurus sy’n disgrifio gweithio o brosiect-i-brosiect. Mae’r dull yma yn gyffrous am ei fod yn ennyn syniadau, yn gwneud cysylltiadau a bywiogi gwaith, wrth hefyd fod yn amsugnol yn gorfforol, emosiynol ac yn greadigol.

Mae darllen yn nodwedd bwysig o’n proses creadigol sydd ym mhob cam o ddatblygiad. Rydym yn ei weld fel offeryn cydweithrediadol defnyddiol, am ei fod yn sicrhau eu bod yn deall ei gilydd. Mae’n wych cael edrych yn nôl ac adlewyrchu ar ddechreuadau a chael gweld sut mae’n yn parhau i atseinio – gweler isod rhai o’n pwyntiau dechreuol.

Grŵp Lleoli Artistiaid / Artist Placement Group (APG):
Wedi ei lunio gan Barbara Stevini, fe drefnodd APG lleoliadau artist mewn gwahanol weithleoedd. Fe osododd eu motto ‘Context Is Half the Work’ y sylfaen  ar gyfer ein cyd-ddiddordeb yng ngwaith ymatebol i safle. Yn y lleoliadau, roedd yr artistiaid yn cael eu hystyried fel y ‘person digwyddol’, yn derbyn cyflog a ‘brîff agored’ i sicrhau bod y proses ar y safle yn derbyn blaenoriaeth dros y cynnyrch gorffenedig. (Rydym yn hoffi ‘screensaver’ y wefan yn enwedig.)

Amseroldeb Tirwedd / Temporality of Landscape:
Mae syniadau o leoedd yn ganolbwynt i’n cydweithrediad, gyda Site Sit yn fwriadol weithredu yn y groeseb rhwng symudiad parhaol, sy’n nodweddu gweithio prosiect-i-brosiect, a’r chwant i greu archwiliad mwy cynhwysfawr a chael mwy o ymwybyddiaeth o’r safle. Yn y traethawd hwn, mae Tim Ingold yn crybwyll y prosesau sy’n bresennol mewn tirweddau, gan bellhau o’r syniad ei fod y rhywbeth i edrych arno, neu’n gefndir niwtral i weithgareddau dynol. Yn lle, gan grybwyll y ‘dwelling perspective’ mae’n awgrymu bod y dirwedd yn gweithredu fel record oesol o fywydau a gwaith o’r genhedlaeth gynt.

“Our actions do not transform the world; they are part and parcel of the world’s transforming itself. And that is just another way of saying that they belong to time.”
Ingold - Temporality of the Landscape

Banc y Bobl, Govanhill / People’s Bank of Govanhill:
Gall ffeirio fod yn strategaeth lwyddiannus ar gyfer ymarferiad/gwaith? Beth yw’r cydbwysedd rhwng gwaith di-dâl gwerthfawr (gofal plant, cymorth cymheiriaid, llafur emosiynol), gwaith di-dâl ecsbloetiol (yn cael eu gwerthu fel cyfleoedd,) a chael digon o waith sy’n talu i gynnal eich hunan? Wedi ei gychwyn gan yr artist Ailie Rutherford yn 2015, mae’r prosiect cydweithrediadol hirdymor hwn yn gwneud i economi lleol ac anffurfiol fod yn weladwy ac yn fwy ffwythiannol o fewn Govanhill yng Nglasgow, wrth ymledu syniadau o arian cymunedol i ail-ddiffinio ein syniadau o werth a dosbarthiad’

Restless Practice is an on-going research project led by artist duo Site Sit (Lauren Heckler + Sophie Lindsey) that was going to be hosted in the library at g39 before everything changed. We have been working with the duo to platform the project outside the library. It examines the ecology of productivity within artistic practice, to consider what resources, infrastructure and relationships are necessary for a portable, site responsive practice to be truly sustainable.

In this context, ‘restlessness’ is defined as both a productive and exhausting strategy that characterises project-to-project working. This approach is simultaneously exciting, as it generates ideas, makes connections and invigorates work; whilst also being draining, in a physical, emotional and creative sense.

“Reading is an important part of our creative process that comes into every stage of development. We find it a useful collaborative tool, as it gets us on the 'same page'. It's great to look back and reflect on beginnings and to see how they continue to resonate - below are some of our starting points.”

Artist Placement Group (APG):
Conceived by Barbara Steveni, APG organised artist placements in different workplaces. Their motto ‘Context Is Half the Work’ set the foundation for our mutual interests in site responsive making. In the placements, artists were considered as the ‘incidental person’, were paid a salary, and given an ‘open brief’, so that on-site process was prioritised over polished outputs. (We particularly enjoy the website screensaver.)

Temporality of Landscape:
Notions of places are central to our collaboration, with Site Sit deliberately operating in the contradiction between continual movement, that characterises project-to-project working, and the desire to create a more in depth, site-conscious exploration of place. In this essay, Tim Ingold considers the processes present in landscape, moving away from it as something to look at, or a neutral backdrop to human activity. Instead through considering the ‘dwelling perspective’ he suggests that landscape acts as an enduring record of the lives and works of past gene
rations. Temporality of the Landscape

People’s Bank of Govanhill:
Can bartering be a successful strategy for sustainable practice/ work? What is the balance between valuable unpaid work (childcare, peer-support, emotional labour), exploitatory unpaid work (sold as opportunities,) and having enough paid work to sustain yourself? Initiated by artist Ailie Rutherford 2015, this long-term collaborative project makes local and informal economies visible and increasingly functional within Govanhill, Glasgow, while “expanding ideas of community currency to re-define our ideas of value, worth and distribution.”

                    Iechyd a Daioni

We have recently been working with Holly Davey to develop sustainable well-being strategies at g39 which will be incorporated into the support we offer. We’ve known Holly for a long while. She is a practising artist and first exhibited with us in 2007 and more recently with her solo showThe Conversationin 2017. Like many artists, her career is made of several distinct but overlapping parts, she is an educator, a member of A-N’s Artists Council and a trained life-coach. It is in her role as a life coach that we have been working with her most recently. Below are some links, which Holly has researched for us, that might help if you or someone you know is experiencing anxiety.
 //
Yn ddiweddar, rydym wedi bod yn gweithio gyda Holly Davey i ddatblygu strategaethau daioni cynialadwy yn g39 a bydd yn cael ei gynnwys yn y cymorth rydym yn ei gynnig. Rydym yn nabod Holly ers sbel ac mae wedi arddangos gyda ni yn 2007 ac yn fwy diweddar gyda’i sioe unigol The Conversation yn 2017. Fel llawer o artistiaid, mae ei gyrfa wedi ei blethu â rhannau gwahanol a phendant. Yn addysgwr, aelod o Gyngor Artistiaid A-N a hyfforddwr bywyd. Yn ei rôl fel hyfforddwr bywyd rydym wedi bod yn gweithio gyda hi yn fwy diweddar. Gweler isod am ddolenni, canlyniad gwaith ymchwil gan Holly, a gallai fod o fudd i chi neu unrhyw un sy’n profi pryder.

Simple Steps to Help You Cope With Anxiety

“Coaching is a refreshing way to take stock of our lives. It allows space and time to reflect on where we are at and where we would like to be and then supports positive steps in making the transition. We are in a unique period of time, which invites the opportunity for self - reflection and a future focused approach to change. This could be the perfect time for you or your business to try coaching and find a new relationship with work / life balance, wellbeing and much more, during and after lockdown.

Coaching provides a safe, supportive and challenging space that enables the coachee to explore their own personal and professional development. The coach doesn't provide the answers or solutions. The process enables the coachee to find their own voice within their goals and make positive steps towards achieving them.”

“Mae hyfforddiant yn ffordd adfywiol o fesur a phwyso ein bywydau. Mae’n galluogi gofod ac amser i adlewyrchu ar ble rydym ni a ble hoffem fod ac yna’n cefnogi camau positif i alluogi’r trawsnewidiad. Rydym yn rhan o gyfnod unigryw sy’n gwahodd y cyfle ar gyfer hunan-adlewyrchu a dull ar gyfer newid sy’n ffocysu ar y dyfodol. Gall hyn fod yr amser perffaith i chi neu eich busnes i brofi hyfforddiant a darganfod perthynas newydd gyda chydbwysedd gwaith / bywyd, daioni, a llawer mwy, yn ystod ac ar ôl y cyfnod cyfyngedig hwn.

Mae hyfforddiant yn cyflwyno gofod saff, cefnogol a heriol sy’n galluogi'r person sy’n derbyn hyfforddiant gael archwilio eu datblygiad personol a phroffesiynol eu hunain. Nid yw’r hyfforddwr yn darparu atebion. Mae’r broses yn galluogi’r person sy’n derbyn hyfforddiant i ddarganfod llais eu hunain o fewn eu hamcanion a gwneud camau positif tuag at eu gwireddu.”
