Hello, ANTrepreneur!

Welcome to our final newsletter of the year. In this issue, we feature one of the teams that placed first at last month's Beall New Venture Competition. After months of hard work, this group of students - which includes a freshman - was awarded $10,000!

If you would like to stay engaged during the summer, do not lose your cool. Our own volunteering programs and other opportunities throughout California will prepare you for the next school year and beyond.

Last, but definitely not least, our annual ANTrepreneur of the Year Awards was a huge success! Thank you to all the students who came out to support others, and congratulations to the ANTrepreneurs who received awards!

Thank you for your support and involvement throughout this year. We wish you all the best of luck for finals and hope you have a great summer vacation!

Follow our social media to stay updated about our activities over the summer. We'll be back with newsletters in the fall.

Best,
The AC Team

Shoutout to our Graduating Interns!

As the end of the quarter approaches, the time has come for our senior class interns to move on to bigger and better things. Thank you Keene, Jimmy, Isis, Natalie, and Simran for your work in the ANTrepreneur Center and your support of student businesses. Our events and initiatives couldn’t have happened without you. We wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors!

A Special Thank You to Our Assistant Director, Breanna Hale

Assistant Director Breanna Hale will be moving on to the Beall Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship. We would like to thank her for an amazing two and a half years at the ANTrepreneur Center. The programs and events that we run, as well as the resources we provide, could not have been possible without her vision and direction.

In her first six months, she tripled student involvement with entrepreneurship and propelled the ANTrepreneur Center forward exponentially in virtually every metric. More recently, she oversaw one of the highest turnouts ever for our female entrepreneurial panel, Girlboss, and the number of consultations increase by over 100 from last year, making support for entrepreneurship more accessible than ever.

Congratulations on the new job! We’re excited to see where you are headed!

Student Startup Fund: Apply for up to $1,000 in Micro-grants!

Are you a UCI student with a few business ideas up your sleeve? (Don’t lie, we know you are.) Good news for you! The Student Startup Fund will provide up to $1,000 to support young entrepreneurs, like you, throughout their businesses’ early stages: prototyping, market research and product refinement.

The micro-grant was founded by UC Applied Innovation, which wants to ensure that students have sufficient funds to thrive and succeed with their new business ideas. Over half of UCI’s students are first-generation, or come from low to moderate income families, meaning that aspiring students have greater opportunities to see their concepts come to life through this fund.
