COMMUNITY UPDATE - NOVEMBER 2018
Executive Director's Message
Hello DPAC Families -- We are nearing the end of the year, and there is so much for which we should be thankful. This year has brought celebrations (like having DPAC Middle earning a 4-Star designation from the state of Nevada!) and challenges (we are not yet 5-Stars at any of our schools), but through it all we have grown as a school community and deepened our commitment to becoming the best school in Nevada and one of the best in America. Our teachers and staff have focused our efforts on providing scholars with more time and enhanced instructions. We are excited to continue to partner with families to ensure that ALL our scholars make it to and through the college of their choice. As you all head into Winter Break, I hope you are able to enjoy time with family and friends and gear up for a strong start to 2019!
Scholar Section
Saturday Academy:
If you are a MS or HS scholar who wants to attend Saturday Academy, please contact your teacher or Principals about the dates and times of Saturday Academy. Now that Trimester 2 is in full swing, we want you to take advantage of every opportunity to grow yourself!

Basketball Season:
Winter months mean one thing: It is basketball season! Make sure to check out the boys and girls basketball teams for home games! We'll have great action on the court along with food, music and the unveiling of the 'Blue Knight' mascot! CLICK HERE for the schedules.

Foodie Fridays:
On the last Friday of each month scholars will have the opportunity to enjoy food from one of their favorite vendors (i.e. Chick-fil-a, Raising Cane's, etc.) Please be on the look- out for signs around campus about how you can enjoy some of this delicious grub on the final Friday of each month.
Parent Section
Trimester 1 Report Cards:
If you have not picked up your scholar's Trimester 1 report card, please contact your child's teacher to pick up the card. If you desire, teachers will also be able to have 1:1 conferences with you about grades as well.

Thanksgiving Pot Luck:
Thank you  for supporting the 2nd Annual DPAC Thanksgiving Pot Luck! The evening was a HUGE success with nearly 200 families showing up to enjoy great food, wonderful music, and lots of fun. Special thank you to Mrs. Hood, Mrs. Garcia, and our FLC members for planning and executing the dinner. We look forward to making it bigger and better in 2019!

Coffee & Conversation:
On Thursday, Dec. 13 at 7:45am, the school principals and I will host our second Coffee & Conversation of the school year. Please join us in the DPAC cafeteria. You will hear from each school leader and me about our school progress. There will also be time at the end of the meeting for you to have brief 1:1 conversations with each school leader.

FLC Information:
On Tuesday, Nov. 13 Nevada Bankers Association came to DPAC and presented to FLC about a variety of financial topics including Saving for college, Buying a home, Personal finances, and Saving for retirement. Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, Jan. 8 at 4:15pm in the DPAC Cafeteria. Please be on the lookout for fliers and messages with information about the next FLC meeting.
