COMMUNITY UPDATE - JULY 2021
July 2021 Update

The end of summer has arrived. I hope you had time to relax, recharge and spend time outdoors. The summer is downtime for most people, but our teammates at DPAC have been working hard to prepare for a fantastic school year.  

In preparation for the upcoming school year, I want to make sure every family does a few things:

  • Check the website: Our website is a great source of information about upcoming events. It also has contact information for our teachers and staff (dpac.democracyprep.org)
  • Complete Summer Packets: If you have not already, please complete your summer packets.
  • Buy School Uniforms: Campus Club will be on campus to sale school uniforms. Please visit our school or the Campus Club store to purchase
  • Get School Supplies: You can find the K-8 lists here and the 9-12 lists here

Our mission is to educate responsible citizen scholars for success in the college of their choice and a life of active citizenship. In order to achieve that mission we must 1.) ensure every family is a part of their scholar's educational journey and 2.) make certain scholars and families get ALL the support they need. To that end, please make sure you stay in communication with the school and your teacher(s).  If you need any support PLEASE contact us so we can help you.

Enjoy the final days of summer.  We look forward to seeing you at Prep Academy on Aug. 9 and on the First Day of School on Aug. 16!

Prep Academy:
While the first day of school is Aug. 16, we begin Prep Academy on Aug. 9.

Prep Academy are half days BEFORE the start of school where scholars have an opportunity to meet their teachers, learn the layout of school, and get to build community with their classmates. We STRONGLY encourage ALL scholars to attend Prep Academy. The Prep Academy schedule is below:
  • Grades K-8: Aug. 9 - Aug. 12 
  • Grade 9: Aug. 9 - Aug. 12
  • Grade 10: Aug. 10 - Aug. 12
  • Grade 11 & 12: Aug. 11 & Aug. 12
All Prep Academy times are 8:00a - 12:00p. Please note: There is NO Meal service during Prep Academy, but you are welcome to bring snacks.

Uniform Purchasing:
As we return to our more traditional school environment, we are brining back our school uniforms. You can find the updated uniform policy at this link.

COVID Update:  
Health, safety, and academic rigor are all critically important. In that vein, we have decided to return to in-person instruction because that is the best way to achieve academic outcomes. However, we will need to balance health and safety given the evolving COVID-19 Pandemic situation.

School Supplies:
We are heading back to school and many families are eager to buy the supplies to help their scholar be successful. Please see below for school supply lists for the 2021-2022 school year:

Ice Cream Social:
On Aug. 6 from 5:00 - 6:30p we will host our 4th annual Ice Cream Social.

Please CLICK HERE to RSVP for the event so we know how much ice cream and food we need!

This is an opportunity for families to reconnect with one another in an informal manner. You will Please join us for free food, music, and the opportunity to purchase uniforms on campus!
