COMMUNITY UPDATE - JUNE 2021
June 2021 Update

It is June! We have all made it through one of the most challenging and trying school year's in recent memories. We have so much to step back and reflect on. We have so much to lament, as it relates to the pandemic, to threats to our democracy, or to the persistent virus of racism in this country. But, we also have so much to celebrate. Our scholars have truly overcome some incredible obstacles this year and persevered in pursuit of their bright futures.

So many of you deserve recognition for making this year a success:

  • Scholars: Thank you for showing your grit and perseverance to make this year a good one, despite the distance and new learning platforms
  • Teachers & Staff: Your ability to move from virtual school to in-person in a blink, all while keeping high expectations was inspiring
  • Families: I appreciate your willingness to adapt to a new mode of learning while partnering with DPAC to hold your scholar to our high standards
  • Community: I am grateful to educate scholars with community members who continue to provide us resources and support to make our school thrive

This year was a true team effort and I look forward to all the great successes 2021-2022 will bring.

Take time to rest this month. In a few weeks I will email the DPAC community with our 'Start of the Schoo Year' email!

New School Leaders:
DPAC Elementary & DPAC Middle will be led by Principal Anastasia Lyons.

It is an honor to introduce myself as the new K-8 principal and to join this extraordinary middle school community. I can assure you I share in our school community’s commitment to caring for children each and every day while providing them a world-class learning environment. I have dedicated myself to the DPAC campus for four years.  I am excited and eager to bring my skills as an educational leader to the Middle School and work with you as a partner in education to ensure your child's success.

DPAC High School will be under the leadership of Principal Ali Taylor

Hello DPAC High School! I am from the Midwest having made my home in Las Vegas four years ago.  I have worked in education for the past nine (9) years -- four (4) of them being at DPAC where I was a founding STEM teacher at DPAC High school.  I know the past year and a half has been challenging and unique to say the least, but I am excited for what the next school year has to bring! I look forward to partnering with our community to make it the best it can be.
