Happy New Year in 2018!
Thank You for all your time, energy and generosity in 2017.

Tikkun Ha-Ir accomplishes great things every year thanks to the people who give of their time and talent. THI could not help Milwaukee men, women and children living in poverty and distress without the hundreds of volunteer hours contributed by so many of you. Thank you for enabling THI to move forward in repairing the community.

From the Glean Machine in spring, to the Food Justice project in summer, to the Holiday Gift Campaign in winter, members and friends of Tikkun Ha-Ir make miracles happen.

In our latest project - Holiday Gifts for the Homeless, Tikkun Ha-Ir provided warm clothing, blankets, books, toys and holiday treats for over 450 people during the coldest week of 2017.

Last week, we sent out a general overview of the Holiday Gifts effort with our thanks to many volunteers, but there were some valuable team members left off the list, including:

  • Women of Emanu-El Knitting Circle who made hundreds of hats, gloves and scarves for impoverished children and adults
  • Members of Congregation Shalom who donated two carloads full of toys and warm clothing for the project.
  • New THI volunteers Lise Moulton and Rachel Howitt who helped to organize the gifts
  • Transporters Toby Libber, Jim Hagen and Susan Armour Seidman
  • Rabbi Michal Woll
  • Shelly Devorkin  who made and donated a carload of blankets
  • Phyllis Eisenberg who purchased and gave two bags of toys
To everyone who made the THI projects successful in 2017 -- Thank You. Now let's get ready for another year of generosity and love in action.
