Father Greg Boyle to Visit Regis
7-9 p.m.

Regis University, Saint John Francis Regis Chapel
The original homeboy will return to our Northwest Denver Campus at 7 p.m., Sept. 9. Rev. Greg Boyle, S.J., New York Times bestselling author and founder of Homeboy Industries will speak at Regis University. This is a free event, and a goodwill or suggested donation of $50 is encouraged; all proceeds benefit Fully Liberated Youth, a Denver organization that offers services to help rehabilitate formerly incarcerated and high-risk young people. Space is limited! Grab your seat.

Join the Move Forward 5/10K Run
9-11:30 a.m. (check category for specific start times)
Sept. 24
Experienced runners, casual runners and walkers, well-behaved on-leash dogs, and families are all welcome to participate in the Move Forward 5/10K. Proceeds benefit the Foundation for Physical Therapy and Canine Companions for Independence. Your heart, lungs and muscles will thank you, too. Register as an individual or a team.

Sunnyside Music Festival Kicks Off Sept. 10

North Denver’s favorite free music fest kicks off with a yoga class led by the always-generous crew at Better Buzz Yoga, followed by seven hours of live music alongside local vendors, children’s activities, food trucks, a beer garden and all kinds of community fun. OLLI-DU at Regis University Encourages Lifelong Learning
Classes begin Sept. 12
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI)-DU at Regis University is an educational membership program designed for adults aged 50 + who wish to pursue lifelong learning in a relaxed atmosphere. OLLI believes that the development and delivery of quality educational programs for 50+ adults is critical for sustaining quality of life and healthy minds. This session, OLLI is offering courses ranging from Spirituality and Aging to Denver History Uncovered. Registration details, membership pricing, and the complete Fall Catalog are available at regis.edu/olli. We’ll see you there!

Mark Your Calendar for Jamming on the Jetty Music Festival
2-7 p.m.
Sept. 17
Sloan’s Lake Boat House and Jetty (West Byron Place and Wolff Street)
Move farther south for even more music at Jamming on the Jetty in Sloan’s Lake. The free family-friendly event will raise money for the Sloans’ Lake Park Foundation working to help save and protect the water’s health. Look for a kids’ zone, yoga, dancers, food and drinks and more. The Regis Rangers’ fall athletic season is in full swing. Women’s and men’s soccer, volleyball, women’s and men’s golf, and men’s cross country have all taken to their respective fields. Check out the fall schedule and get your tickets. Take advantage of this affordable and accessible opportunity to watch collegiate level sports!

Talking Trash: Denver to Offer Expanded Services

In 2023, City and County of Denver trash collection customers will begin receiving weekly recycling and compost collection services to reduce the amount of trash the city sends to the landfill and the production of harmful greenhouse gas emissions. To pay for the expanded services, customers will be charged a fee based on their trash cart size, ranging from $9 to $21 per month (the smaller the trash cart, the lower the fee). Weekly recycling and composting collection services will be included at no extra charge. Volume-based Pricing to roll out in Denver in January 2023.
