Introducing NMAAM's Black Music Has a Home Campaign
The National Museum of African American Music proudly announces our Black Music Has a Home campaign! Launching during Black History Month and culminating in June (Black Music Month), Black Music Has a Home celebrates 56 genres and sub-genres, 400-plus years of history, and the 1,500 artifacts that embody the depth and breadth of African American expression through the medium of music. You can touch, feel, and hear the complete history of Black music in person within our galleries, and virtually through our rich digital and social media content.

Black Music Has a Home affirms NMAAM’s position as the place where Black music lives and is preserved. Follow us across our social channels (@thenmaam) and visit nmaam.org as we continue to bring the NMAAM experience to life through exclusive programming, special educational series, virtual events, and more!

LAST CHANCE: Donate to NMAAM's Limited Edition Campaign
NMAAM's Limited Edition campaign is winding to a close, but it's not too late to give! When you donate to the National Museum of African American Music, you're helping support our signature educational programming and our mission to preserve the legacy of Black music. During our Limited Edition campaign, we'll send you a commemorative NMAAM t-shirt when you donate at the $100 level and an exclusive NMAAM catalog when you donate at the $250 level as a token of our appreciation for your support. For donations above $250, we'll send you both commemorative gifts. The campaign ends on February 28. Click here to make your donation to the Limited Edition campaign today!

Volunteer with NMAAM
NMAAM wants YOU to become a volunteer! Volunteers are extensions of our museum education team, acting as guides, storytellers, and orators, engaging visitors with the history of African American musical innovation, and inspiring them to understand the greatest connection each person has within the world-- music.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to learn and grow in numerous roles including assisting in areas of retail, education, visitor service, and more. Select volunteers will also serve as griots, or storytellers, guiding visitors throughout their museum tour experience.
