This is the first year that we have managed and facilitated this process on behalf of our schools and it would not have been successful without the support of our heads and senior leaders. Over the two days a total of 206 NQTs were interviewed by 59 colleagues who were supported by the ConnectEd team. On behalf of ConnectEd Partnership, we would like to thank all colleagues who took part in the NQT recruitment process this year, especially given the current situation with the re-opening of schools to all pupils last week.
We are fully committed to supporting our schools in recruiting high quality teachers and hope that the NQT pool enables you to successfully recruit NQTs for September.

ConnectEd Partnership’s proposed Staff Absence Scheme
A Consultation document has been included on the Agendas for the Spring term’s 2021 Local Network and Phase group meetings.
It may be your Head teacher will not be able to attend these local Wolverhampton meetings. Therefore in order for members to be aware of the Consultation, the document has been shared with known directly employed Business Managers to ensure all ConnectEd Partnership Member schools and Academy schools are provided with the opportunity to comment and respond.
It is important to note that the Consultation document is the sole property of ConnectEd Partnership. It is commercially sensitive and must not be shared with any external providers and or non-member schools.
The intention is that the Scheme will be available from 1 April 2022 (minimum 2 year contract term) exclusively to ConnectEd Partnership Schools and Academy Schools.
It is a Mutual shared risk option to work collaboratively in owning and providing security and payments for Schools who face the financial costs of contracted teachers and direct classroom facing non-teaching staff for failing to be able to undertake their jobs by way of sick leave, to cover unexpected costs associated with absences.
In order for schools to consider the benefits of the Scheme throughout the document there are service level differences explained between External Insurance Schemes and ConnectEd Partnership proposed Staff Absence Scheme.
In brief it is a ‘Not For Profit’ benefits scheme working on a co-operative mutual basis.
The Consultation closes on Thursday 1 April 2021. If you and/or your Head teacher wish to respond please do so by this date directly to Helen Perkins. An indication of whether this may be something you would consider as a benefit to the school would be useful.
If you wish to receive a copy of the consultation document on a strictly confidential basis please email email@example.com. Alternatively, you can view the document by loging onto the members area on our website.
Please also contact Helen Perkins by email or 01902 290154 if you have any questions you wish to ask.
Please ensure you keep the scheme informed over any changes to informed of leave, resignation or return to work dates, particularly for those that occur up to 31 March 2021.
Connected Partnership manage the fund carefully on behalf of all schools, this includes those that have overspent their premiums, those that have underspent or not claimed, plus any leavers of the scheme and resignations of staff and monies owed to the scheme before the end of the financial year. Schools have until the last Friday in April to submit all of their claims and payroll reports. (Late submissions will be discounted) Therefore, closure and reimbursements toward the end of the financial year are subject to delay.
