Good News

Wolverhampton Community Games
What a wonderful day had by all for the launch of our Wolverhampton Community Games baton.

There was a brilliant turn out to kick start the baton journey with schools from across the City coming together - children, staff, parents and supporters all gave outstanding performances of the songs they had been busy learning.

A huge thank you to Wolverhampton Music Service for providing all of the music and sounds that kept the children and the audiences entertained.

The Mayor of Wolverhampton was in attendance and enjoyed talking with schools and their families.
We also made it onto the BBC News, what a great achievement for everyone involved.

Staff at ConnectEd were fortunate enough to take the baton on the very first leg of its journey down to West Park and from there began its journey to schools, starting at Broadmeadow Special School on Wednesday 18th May.

We would like to thank every single one of you that made this possible and we are very proud to be part of such a wonderful event in our City.

If you would like to see more images of the day, please click here and we hope you will continue to support the Baton's journey and look out for it coming to your school soon.

If you have a Good News story, please send it to
and we will feature it in our next edition.

  & Adoption Leave Pooling Scheme 2020 – 2022
Important Information
Financial Year 2021/2022 - Now Closed

As a result of Member Schools providing timely payroll reports to the Scheme on a monthly basis as required, the financial year 2021-2022 has been closed.
The Scheme for 2021-2022 is not overspent therefore schools that have overspent their premium paid will not be required to pay back any proportionate contributions.  As a result schools that overspent have been supported by the shared funds provided by schools that have not overspent their premium paid.
Closure of account emails will be sent to those schools that have remaining reimbursements due and these will be subsequently processed in the coming weeks.

Claim forms and the Scheme Arrangements (terms and conditions) can be viewed below and you can also download them at
Claim Form
Scheme Arrangements
(The closing date for submissions for each financial year is the last Friday in April).
Please note that new claims and payroll reports will be dealt with after the invoice for the service is paid. The cut off point is 3 months - this is non discretionary.
It is important that you familiarise yourselves with the Scheme Arrangements and comply with the terms and conditions.
I am also pleased to inform you that the new financial year 2022-23 has over 80 member schools so far with 1,451.74 teachers covered by the scheme and 1482.84 non teachers.
