ECT Welcome Event September 2022
On Wednesday 14th September the ECT Welcome Event took place. 82 ECTs/Mentors were present and it was lovely to see so many of you.

You will be aware that as a delivery partner of the NPQ programme for Best Practice Network, ConnectEd Partnership are once again offering fully funded NPQ programmes delivered locally in Wolverhampton.
We are pleased to inform you that the deadline for Autumn 2022 applications has now been extended to Monday 26th September 2022.

ECT Registration with Appropriate Body and Best Practice Network from September 2022
If your school has appointed an ECT from September 2022 and you wish to register them with ConnectEd/WCC Appropriate Body and Best Practice Network for the core ECF Training, please follow the instructions below:
For Your School:
The designated Induction Tutor will need to register any new ECTs and Mentors through the DfE Online Service. Here you will find guidance on using the service.
If your school is yet to have an ECT or your school is changing from another Lead Provider to Best Practice Network (BPN), they will be prompted with instructions on what to do within the Dfe Online Service AND your school will need to register through the BPN School Registration Form.
For ECTs and Mentors:
Once ECTs and Mentors details have been updated on the DfE Online Service, the DfE will provide BPN with the registration details. A follow-on registration form is sent from BPN to ECTs and Mentors to capture additional information to help allocate a suitable training group. Please note this is not instant; we will be in touch with all candidates who have applied through the DfE once the DfE have processed their application and carried out the eligibility checks. You do not need to contact BPN to check if they have received the ECT/Mentor application. If there are any issues with the registration process, please contact the DfE directly on 0370 0002288 or using this link.

Music Programme 2022/23
Working in close partnership with the Wolverhampton Music School, we are developing a music programme of work for Early Years. This would involve staff CPD, events and workshops all to be designed and delivered from January 2023.
We are looking into programmes of work that would be sustainable for Early Years settings, as we believe music, song and dance can be highly beneficial to the first stages of learning. With DfE guidance changing recently around age criteria, and more funding being made available, we are working on a road map for our City to develop Early Years in music and performing arts.
To enable us to gauge interest and a current baseline of our schools, we would like you to complete a short survey.
This will tell us of your interest to be involved and what your current position is. It will give us all we need to apply for extra funding and ensure this model of work is sustainable and has a good legacy through practitioner development.

Reimbursements were processed on 9th August 2022 for the salary costs claims for the period April, May & June 2022 inclusive. All receiving schools have been emailed and remittances sent (please ensure you keep this email as a history record of your reimbursements throughout the financial year. I will continue to use this first email so that you have a trail each month). If you require a further copy of the remittance please email email@example.com. Schools will be alerted when their claims reach 100% of their total annual premium. ConnectEd Partnership will not pay schools above their premium paid until the school have confirmed in writing the following contract term buy in. If you leave the scheme at the end of the contract period all reimbursements for each contract year over the premium paid will be recharged to the school. Schools that leave the Scheme at the end of the contract period are required to pay back all of their overspend for all contracted years. (that is if the service has been taken up for 2/3 years). Schools who decide not to renew their membership of the scheme will be recharged the full amount of claims offset against the premium paid for each year of membership along with a leaving administrative fee based on the premium paid for each year of membership. The leaving administrative fee is payable regardless of the reimbursements made. Please keep the scheme informed of leave, resignation or return to work dates.
Any overspend will need to be met by schools contributing additional funding to the scheme based on claims made compared to premium contributions. If at the end of the financial year the account is in surplus, the money will be rolled over to the following year and reflected in the premium charges. If the account is overspent, the amount will be charged to schools in the proportion to which they have claimed on the account. Schools who decide not to continue with membership of the scheme year on year will be recharged the full amount of claims offset against the premium paid.
For those schools that don’t use WCC payroll, please continue to submit payroll reports on a monthly basis. Late submissions will be discounted. (The closing date for all submissions for each financial year is the last Friday in April). For payroll journal reconciliation purposes please ensure you share this information with your school bursar/school business manager and/or finance officer. Claim forms and the scheme arrangements (terms and conditions) can be downloaded www.connectedpartnership.com It is important that you familiarise yourselves with the Scheme Arrangements and comply with these terms and conditions.
