Welcome Back to all our Schools, Pupils, Staff and Partners

We hope you have all enjoyed your break and we are looking forward to working with you during 2021/2022

It is with great sadness that we have to tell you of the death of our colleague, Andrew Weston.
His mum, Sam Perks, who is also a member of the team, who most of you know as our Physical Activity and School Sports Lead, pays tribute to her son:

"On the 14th July 2021, I sadly lost my son and a member of the ConnectEd family. Andrew was our Marketing Apprentice and aged just 20.
He loved his time at ConnectEd and was grateful for the opportunity to work with some amazing people. I don’t think we will ever fill his role as the office comedian!
During the summer, Andrew was given an amazing send off and his funeral was a unique day that reflected the unique person that he was.
I would like to personally extend a loving ‘Thank You’ from myself and my family for all the wonderful words of support, flowers and gifts, it has been a great comfort knowing I have such wonderful people around me.
Andrew was one of a kind and will be sadly missed by us all, at home and in the office! We will continue to BEE Positive on his behalf.
The world has seen some incredibly tough times since the pandemic brought life to a standstill and I am sure I am not the only one suffering loss. At this time, I also think of all colleagues and family members who are no longer with us and I offer warmest wishes to all.
We truly are ‘Better Together’ in more ways than one.
With Love
Sam x"

Back to Swimming!

As a Partnership, swimming and water safety has always been a high priority. With the pandemic meaning we have lost so much time out of the water, we need to make sure we build a programme of work to get all children back into the water safely and confidently.
To ensure we are building a pathway for all and we understand the barriers that are in place, we would be grateful if you could give us some feedback regarding where you are at with your plans to rebuild your swimming offer. Do you have swimming provision back in place? What obstacles are you facing with swimming? What is working? What isn’t working? Do you need extra support from the Partnership? Is your swimming data being tracked and uploaded?
Please help us to help you and ensure that no child is left behind with swimming and water safety.
*Please note - Swimming Teacher Training will be available this term.

Update on Safeguarding – New Ofsted Handbook

The handbook has been updated and in terms of safeguarding there is now a whole new section on harmful sexual behaviour paragraphs 306 to 310. They will be looking at policies, procedures and data. They will look at how incidents are handled and how and what is taught in the curriculum.
 They will expect that schools:
"To assume that sexual harassment, online sexual abuse and sexual violence are happening in and around the school, even when there are no specific reports, and put in place a whole-school approach to address them where incidents are reported, understand how to handle reports of sexual violence and harassment between children, both on and outside school premises, in line with the DfE’s guidance, and train their staff accordingly (including teachers delivering relationships, sex and health education) "
"Where schools do have not adequate processes in place, it is likely that safeguarding will be considered ineffective. This will impact on the leadership and management judgement. Inspectors may also, depending on the circumstances, take this evidence into account when considering personal development and behaviour and attitude judgements (particularly in respect of pastoral support and pupils feeling safe respectively).
