Christmas tip for garbage collectors

collectionIt's that time of year again!  As in past years, we are planning to show our appreciation for the excellent work our garbage collectors do as they navigate their way up and down our laneways by presenting them with a Christmas "tip".

Of course, residents are under no obligation to participate and some may choose to handle this on their own or not at all.   As a guideline we have suggested a $20 donation per household, although you are welcome to donate any amount.  This is then divided between the three regular collectors (on two trucks) who work in our community throughout the year.

Some laneways of The Village have volunteers who act as drop off points for donations to the tip fund and others do not.  No matter where you are located, you are more than welcome to drop your contribution off at the home of:
  • Jane Chapell, 82 Garrison Village Dr., or
  • Carol Fraser, 12 Blackbird St.
We will be accepting contributions from now through December 15 and will present the funds collected on December 16.  The drivers and collectors who have received these gifts in the past have been most appreciative.

If you have any questions about this project, please contact
Jane Chapell at:  jane.chapell@gmail.com.
