Lumiere Stroll - Monday, December 23

lightsDon’t forget to mark your calendars for the Lumiere Stroll which takes place on Monday, December 23 (weather permitting).
Sidewalks in the four Village parks will be illuminated with glowing candles throughout.
No set start time, just enjoy a walk anytime after dark with friends, neighbours and relatives to share some holiday cheer.

Position Open

The VCA Executive position for Treasurer in now open.  The bank account and books all set up and the current Treasurer is happy to assist you in getting started.  You just need to be able to manage a bank account, summarize monthly activities – which are minimal, and sign cheques.   We have monthly Executive meetings – but if you are out of town you can “call in” as needed.

Please contact Mona Babin if you can assist.  We need your help!

We wish to thank Ron McKenzie for his service as Treasurer for the past 3 years and wish him well in future endeavours.  Ron and Victoria are leaving The Village for a new home in Grimsby.

We won!!!!!

The town of Niagara-on-The-Lake announced the winners of the Holiday Decoration Display Awards this week and we are proud that The Village received the Special Community Award!

Congratulations to Dale DesIslets and his large team of volunteers for all their work to make our neighbourhood shine!!!

Collection for the Collectors

thank youThank you to all who participated in the Christmas Tip for the Garbage/Recycling Collectors project.  The various laneway representatives throughout The Village presented the funds collected to our three regular workers on Monday, December 16th.

Although we do not have details from every participating laneway, we can report that the funds collected by Carol Fraser, Randy Churchill and Jane Chapell, predominately in the Brookfield section of The Village, totalled $855, with $285 going to each worker.  We are also aware of results from two other laneways with one presenting the workers with $170 each and the second with $75 each.

As in past years the workers were all most appreciative and asked that we pass along their sincere thanks to all involved.
