Purse ProjectRequest from one of our residents

Dee Steele of 23 Brock Street is collecting purses to be donated to Niagara Region women’s shelters and senior’s homes.
They will be filled up by volunteers (Or you can too!) with shampoo, body wash, make-up, colouring books, socks or whatever you feel someone in need might appreciate.
Last winter many of our Village neighbours were very generous and donated to this great cause.
Purses can be new or used.  Full or empty!
Please drop off to Dee by October 25.

Volunteers needed!

volunteerThe Village Community Association needs a couple more set of hands.  Can you assist?  Be part of our community and leadership.
We need another member of the Executive committee in the role of Recording Secretary.  It involves recording and distributing the minutes of monthly Executive meetings and assisting with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) twice a year.
The second role is Membership Coordinator.  Someone to manage the details of the current Village Community Association membership list, adding new members and tracking renewals.
Both positions would only require a few of hours per month and of course some comfort with computers (Word/Excel).
Can you help?  Please contact Mark Brown, President VCA, if you are willing to assist. Mark Brown markabrown107@gmail.com

Not a Shortcut
Laneways

Please respect your neighbours and don’t use their laneways as a shortcut.  Laneways are meant only for the use of the residents who live on them.

The Last Word – by John Hawley

Dear Neighbours,

ConstructionAs most you will know we are about to start our final residential phase on the land bordered by Perez Street, Rampart Street, Niven Road and the existing laneway behind the houses on the south side of Colonel Cohoe Street. This 2 acre site will house 7 detached houses, one semi-detached, four bungalow townhouses, and 10 two story townhouses (in two buildings fronting Perez), for a total of 23 units. We have just installed two subdivision notice signs on the property as required by the Planning Act, and will this week be overlaying a large draft plan of Subdivision image on the existing sign on this site showing the lot layouts. There will be two public meetings in September as required by the Town. The first, on September 19th, is a non-statutory Public Information Meeting and the second, on September 25th is the Public Meeting required by the Planning Act. Both meetings will be at 5:00pm in the Council Chambers at the Town Offices.

The Village Architectural Codes will continue to apply to these designs. There is no change to the existing zoning. These singles, semis, and townhouses will be custom built with predetermined exterior designs. We have established a building program to build from the north (the laneway) to the south (Perez Street) to minimize disruption and increase efficiency.

For more information please attend the public meeting or contact us at 289-868-8617. You can also obtain more information from the Town's website  www.notl.org
