LYNN’S LIST FOR DECEMBER 14, 2020

Fair and Representative Elections

Federal

The following seven Georgia Representatives joined 120 other Republicans in support of the Texas Attorney General’s lawsuit contesting the election in Georgia and three other states seeking to invalidate the votes of millions of voters. To find if one of the below officials is your Congressman, click here and enter your zip code.

Rick Allen, 12th District,

Buddy Carter, 1st District,

Doug Collins, 9th District,

Drew Ferguson, 3rd District;

Jody Hice, 10th District;

Barry Loudermilk, 11th District;

Austin Scott, 8th District.

Additionally, both Republican Senatorial candidates and current seated Senators Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue, expressed support for the lawsuit as well.  In essence, the states’ rights Republicans were saying it was okay for one state (Texas) to interfere and to tell another state (Georgia) how to run their elections.  They also called for the resignation of Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger.

Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution says, “No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress or elector of President and  Vice President. Or hold any office, civil or military,  under the United States, or under any state, who having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United State, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.  But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.”

These are the facts about Georgia’s 2020 general election.

  • Joe Biden was elected President and Kamala Harris was elected Vice President after the first count, second count, and third count.

  • Two cyber security committees within the Department of Homeland Security released a statement that called the November 3 election "the most secure in American history.”

  • Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has repeatedly said there's no evidence of systemic election irregularities or fraud.

  • Gabriel Sterling, Georgia's voter implementation manager has said the election fraud claims are ridiculous.

  • Attorney General William Barr has said there is no evidence of widespread fraud.

Contact both Senators Loeffler and Perdue and your Rep. (if he was a signee) with the suggested script: My name is ----- and I am from--.  I am appalled that you supported the Texas lawsuit seeking to overturn our election. The Secretary of State confirmed three times that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris won the election and Georgia has certified the election. Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to the Constitution says that no person who engages in insurrection or rebellion shall hold any government office.  Your outlandish support of pathetic attempts to overturn the legitimate election is undemocratic, unAmerican, in direct conflict with the oath that you took and your actions are disqualifying for the office which you hold.

If Dale Washburn is your Georgia Assembly Representative, email him at dale.washburn@house.ga.gov with this suggested script:

I am your constituent from ------.  I noticed on Facebook that you signed a petition asking for a special session to deal with many issues regarding the Georgia Election system.  I am wondering what those issues are since these are the facts:

  1. two cyber security committees within the Department of Homeland Security released a statement that called the November 3 election "the most secure in American history.

  2. Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has repeatedly said there's no evidence of systemic election irregularities or fraud.

  3. Attorney General William Barr has said there is no evidence of fraud.

  4. Gabriel Sterling, Georgia's voter implementation manager has said the election fraud claims are ridiculous and that it is dangerous to keep implying that the election was fraudulent.

I would like to hear what those irregularities are. Please respond.

COVID-19 cases are surging to record highs, increasing by 90% following the Thanksgiving holiday, yet Congress hasn't provided new assistance or economic relief since the early weeks of the pandemic back in March. Some of that assistance has already expired, unemployment insurance for more than 200,000 jobless independent contract workers and self-employed Georgians is set to expire on December 26, and the moratorium on evictions ends on December 31.

Contact Senators Loeffler and Perdue with the suggested script: My name is ---- and I am from -----.  Georgians need comprehensive COVID-19 relief that includes food assistance, unemployment insurance benefits, aid for state and local governments, extended unemployment, and child care relief. With that support, small businesses can keep their doors open and Georgians can get back on the road to full recovery.  You have been asleep at your job as Senator.  You and the rest of the Senate must not leave Washington for the winter holiday without fulfilling your obligation to the electorate.
