We know that nonprofits are often the starting point for creating change. Here’s an innovative nonprofit you should know.
With its foundation in faith, the nonprofit Deke, Inc., is filling in the gaps for residents in need in Cleveland, Tennessee. It all started about five years ago when volunteers began bringing meals to a local park to help people experiencing homelessness, according to Pastor Tyrone Johnson, who emailed Renewal 365. Now they serve in multiple capacities: Every Saturday they support at least 30 families through their services, such as providing food, clothes, toiletries, and emotional support. Deke’s next big project is its Homeless Services program.
“We are actively helping people get on their feet by providing tangible steps toward independence,” Pastor Tyrone wrote. Donate to Deke here.
