Heya -
It’s the same time of the year. Time to say ‘Thanks’. That time when we spend 10 seconds out of the yearly 31 Million seconds to say Thank-You to everything we feel grateful for.

Still struggling with what I’m saying? It’s Thanksgiving
dayyyyy….yayyyy!

I know, I know, Thanksgiving is an American cultural thing. You may argue why should we bother with another festival in our bucket? But since when ‘thanking’ became a proprietary of American culture? Shouldn’t it be something we do daily? Truth be told, it is one of the essentials to lead a happy life. Watch this TED talk to convince yourself. Now. Will ya?

Here is my version of a happy life inspired by Jessica Hagy’s version of an unboring life-

Here are the twelve things that I’m grateful for-

  1. Mothers and their unconditional love.
  2. Human Evolution and me being me(h). Check out Sapiens to understand the history of humanity - a brilliant book.
  3. Chole Bhature. The world’s most lip-smacking and artery choking food ever. Can’t have enough of it.
  4. Google. Otherwise, my stupidity would have been exposed a long time ago.
  5. Feeling loved by family, friends, and colleagues for most days of my existence on this miracle planet.
  6. All my team members who call Quovantis their second home.
  7. Music which takes me to another spiritual dimension and helps me express my feelings.
  8. Books for making me sound wiser than I actually am. Here are 12 books that I’ve loved reading in the past 1 year - Obstacle is the Way, Deep Work, Ego is the Enemy, Challenger Sale, Zero to One, Hard things about hard things, Creative Confidence, Sprint, Hooked, Thinking fast and slow, The subtle art of not giving a fuck and Grit.
  9. Thankful to people who take the time out to actually read what I write. Unbelievable, I know!
  10. Notebooks and Pens. For making most of my shitty ideas look like brilliant pieces of art.
  11. Chai. I swear there is more chai flowing through my veins than blood. The best drink ever concocted by man.
  12. My lungs for not collapsing (yet) despite breathing New Delhi’s air.
There you go, it’s time to make your own “I’m grateful for…” list. A big hug,

Tarun
