Simple tips to help you enjoy more peace and happiness in life, through intentional living and enhanced relationships.
This Week's Simple Tip
Years ago, I did the Susan G. Komen 3-Day Challenge Walk. Having raised thousands of dollars and trained hundreds of hours, I walked 60 miles with many other women in an effort to raise money for a breast cancer cure.

I did the walk in Atlanta where we had experienced a drought that year. I'll never forget how the skies opened up with torrential rains just as we started on our challenge. It was cold, wet and miserable as we dredged through the 3-4 inch puddles. I ultimately lost six toenails after the walk from having been so waterlogged!!

Normally on the 3-Day challenge weekends, participants camp for the two nights along the route. Because of the overwhelming storm, we were instead put up in a nearby high school on floor mats.

The next morning, with blisters on our feet and half-rested, we faced more rain. I have never forgotten the emotional pep talk we were given before we set out for the second day: "As much as you don't feel like getting back out in the rain and walking 23 miles today, don't forget that cancer patients don't have a choice as to whether or not they fight their disease each day."

Okay, who could complain after hearing that??? What we were going through was nothing in comparison. We were blessed!!
This week, think about all the trivial things each and every one of us complains about on a daily basis: the weather, the traffic, the job, a bad day, etc. When you catch yourself or someone else complaining, remind yourself and others how truly blessed we are. I promise you the clip below will be as life-changing for you about complaining, as my pep talk was at the 3-Day.

A Little Helpful Hint
This powerful message from World Poetry Slam Champion Rudy Francisco puts in perspective all the unnecessary complaining people do. Listen to why "it doesn't matter if the glass is half full or half empty; there is water in the cup, so drink that shit and stop complaining."
