Film Screening

Join us on August 18, 7:30 PM for a screening of Two Sided Story. The film follows newly bereaved Palestinian and Israeli parents as they participate in bi-national weekend seminars run by facilitators who had previously lost children to the conflict.The final in our summer film series, Love Your Neighbor, is a deep and difficult exploration of the price of war.

The wrenching and emotional film brings us into the pain and the context of this heart-breaking conflict.

Suggested donation $5-18 - no one turned away for lack of funds. Part of Temple Israel's Love Your Neighbor summer film series.

Please note, this screening will take place at Temple Israel in the library.

Shabbat Picnic

Friday, August 23 ~ Join us for a Shabbat Picnic! For the young and young at heart, Maggid David Arfa will lead us on a mini-expedition in search of the kindly Shretelech, the magical little people of Yiddish legend. We'll explore the natural world through the eyes of children, hear stories of the magical Shretelech, and build shelters for them. Afterwards, we'll gather for Shabbat Dinner on the grill.

Free and open to all!

Refuah Shlema

Our thoughts are with Suzanne Gluck-Sosis and her family. Suzanne is recovering at home from a fall. We wish her a full and speedy recovery.

Readers & Leaders Needed

Have you ever considered adding to your synagogue skills? Torah readers and leaders for short discrete parts of the service are needed for the High Holidays.  If this is the year fro you to add a new skill, please contact Rabbi Andrea.

Spreading Kindness

Want a simple way to “make someone’s day” and spread kindness? Consider creating some Kindness Cards. Pick up Kindness Cards at TI and print a message of encouragement or inspiration. 

Keep your Kindness Cards, keep them in your car, purse, backpack, briefcase, desk, pocket, etc., and hand them out randomly as you go about your day. See how something so simple can be so powerful. Remember, this is a great family activity, and it doesn’t cost anything but some of your time!

August 23 & 24: Giant Tag Sale @ Saint Joseph Parish in Shelburne
