Learn Hebrew this Summer

Are you curious about Hebrew? Do you want to be able to follow along in services by reading the Hebrew? Or maybe you want to know what is really being said in the Torah. Take the first steps this summer--join our five week Hebrew class.

We'll meet on Thursdays, July 25-August 22, 6:30-8:30 PM at Temple Israel. Instructor Anne Hartheimer will guide you as you learn the Hebrew alphabet and how to read simple Hebrew phrases. We'll read and sing prayers in Hebrew. The class will help you recognize common words of the Jewish prayerbook, and feel more comfortable reading prayerbook Hebrew.

Join us. There is a fascinating new adventure awaiting you!

Cost: $50 for members, $75 for non-members

Annual Meeting

Sunday, June 30 is the Temple Israel Annual Meeting. Members will gather at 9:30 for breakfast provided by the Board of Directors, and meet from 10 AM - 12 PM to discuss and vote on next year's budget and other important business matters of the congregation. Temple Israel Members: Please check your email and postal mail for the agenda and supplemental information. We especially appreciate your returned proxy forms so we can count your vote in reaching a 2/3 majority for the changes to the Bylaws, Article XVIII.  Thank you!
