Tikkun Olam Planning Event

Please join us for a Tikkun Olam planning session on Zoom at 10:30 AM on Sunday October 18.

Temple Israel has a long history of meaningful social justice work and we have sustained many individual projects, especially around food access and social justice.

The time is ripe for us to coalesce a new and coordinated effort of tikkun olam work at the synagogue around urgent and emergent opportunities to transform and repair racial inequities in our communities. By coordinating a cohesive tikkun olam initiative at the synagogue, we hope to engage members in our community to:

- Learn and live into our Jewish values around racial justice;
- Amplify and support local social justice initiatives;
- Self-study our own diversity and inclusion practices;
- Engage together, and with others in our community, in direct actions to support social repair.

The direction of this group will depend on your input and ideas. Please RSVP by responding to this email.

Real Teen Theater

Real Teen Theater presents:

Face Forward: Growing Up in Nazi Germany
a play by Brendon Votipka

Sunday, October 25, 2020
7:00pm
on Zoom

The story of three teens with diverse identities and hopes experience the tensions of the early years of Nazism in Germany. The tensions between hopes and fears, fitting in and heroism will feel highly relevant in our time of political stress. A discussion of the play's themes will follow the one act play.

Our teen and adult cast will bring the play to life on this anniversary of the Harvest Action, a mass murder committed at forced labor camps over a two day period in south western Poland, in 1944.

The play will be presented on Zoom Webinar. Registration and room ID will be distrubted in our bi-weekly "How ton Participate" email. Please contact our office to receive this announcement.
