TI Weekly: Nov 13, 2018

On Sunday, we hosted an afternoon program reflecting on trauma & resilience, on the 80th year since the violent attacks of Kristallnacht. We were absolutely floored by the response - the sanctuary was packed with people of all faiths studying the work of Rabbi Kalonymus Kalman Shapiro and preparing for David Arfa's performance The Jar of Tears. Participants then sat together for the important and moving film Who Will Write Our History? and the afternoon closed with Mourner's Kaddish. Thank you to all who came together on this afternoon and to the Harold Grinspoon Foundation for helping Rabbi Andrea make this possible.

Community Meal

On December 4th Temple Israel is serving the community meal at the 2nd Congregational Church in Greenfield.  We will be preparing lasagna (meat, vegetarian, or white) bread, salad and dessert. Cash donations are also welcomed as we buy food to fill in any gaps. Help is requested with cooking, cleanup, serving.  Food needs to be delivered by 5 and we usually finish up by 6:30.  Many hands make for light work.  As it is Hanukkah, Rabbi Andrea will be saying the prayers and lighting the Hanukkah candles.  It’s a very beautiful and sharing time. Please consider helping in any way you can.
