Study of Bedtime Shema

TONIGHT! Rabbi Andrea is offering a three part class on Zoom to study the Shema prayer that we say before sleep. The words offer us comfort and thoughts for facing the unknowns of sleep and night. This class will be held Mondays, March 30, April 6 & 13, 7-8:00 PM, via Zoom. Virtual Hevruta - Passover

One of our community members, Jan Rabinowicz, is organizing a Passover study with the general theme of grappling with what the holiday will mean to us this year. The first meeting will be this Wednesday, April 1, at 7 PM. Jan will bring up some text from the Haggadah and lead a talk about the narrative in Exodus. All are encouraged to read up on anything that they’d like to bring up and talk about. To participate, please email Jan at Jrabinowicz[at]

Conversational Hebrew

Ori Ben-Shir will lead a class in conversational Hebrew via Zoom for those looking to continue their study. This class is meant for those who can read Hebrew, know a few words and are looking to continue their study of Hebrew as a spoken language. The first class is scheduled for this Thursday, April 2, 6-7:30 PM. If you would like to join, please reply to this email and we will get the Zoom link out to you.

UnOrthodox Discussion Group

April 5, 10 AM: If you are on Netflix - Try to see UnOrthodox, a 4 part drama about a young woman leaving a Hassidic community. There is a 20 minute "making of" following the 4 episodes. Worth watching.

Jewish Historical Society Western Massachusetts: Oral History Videos

Our community member Ken Schoen shared that the website of the Jewish Historical Society of Western MA is packed with videos and interviews of folks from the Greenfield area. In his words, we can "take pleasure in the history of the shul and people's remembrances as we look towards the future."

Common Good Offers & Needs Board

Common Good, a non-profit based in Franklin County that develops tools for an economy built on community resilience and mutual aid (you may know them through their debit card), has created an Offers & Needs board designed to help us aid one another right now.  These offers and needs are not about stuff, but about help, be it getting groceries for someone, shoveling snow, or showing up once a day to care for a pet.
