Shabbat Shalom

Join us this Saturday, May 11, at 10 AM, for a meditative chanting service led by Rabbi Andrea. Spiritual sustenance for our challenging times. All are welcome, childcare provided. Service followed by kiddush and conversations.

Saturday, June 8, 8 PM-??: enLighten the Night/Tikkun Layl Shavuot
enLighten the Night by learning Torah and teachings together on the evening of Shavuot. No fee.

Friday, June 14, 7 PM: Pride Shabbat with guest soloist Justin Sundell-Thomas
Join us to kick off the weekend of Franklin County Pride with a vibrant, participatory, and musical Kabbalat Shabbat service led by cantorial soloist Justin Sundell-Thomas!

Saturday, June 29, 7:30 PM: Astrology, Magic, and Esoterica in the Jewish Tradition
Rabbis Rhonda Shapiro-Rieser and Andrea Cohen Kiener will share information about folk wisdom, magic, and mysticism in the rabbinic tradition.

Thursdays, July 11 & July 18, 7-8:30 PM: Jewish Mysticism 101
Jewish Mysticism 101 will cover basic Jewish cosmology, answering the age-old questions of: what we are made of and what we are here for. Included with Temple Israel membership; $15/class or $20 for set of 2 requested from not-yet members. Limited Space Available!

Wednesday, May 15, 6-8PM: Israel and Beyond: Culture Celebration @ JCA

Admission is free! Cooking, Dinner, Dancing, Discussion, Music! Hosted by JCA World Jewish Concerns Committee and co-sponsored by The Jewish Federation of Western Massachusetts, and Partnership2Gether Israel emissaries at the JCA. Children are welcome. The Israeli emissaries will spend the evening cooking fresh food and introducing themselves and the story behind their special dishes.

A fun evening of food, cocktails, and our very first Fund-A-Need event! Fund-A-Need is a special auction that invites you to make a donation in support of specific Jewish Family Service needs and JFS programs. Thursday, May 30 (Rain Date June 6), 8AM-4PM: Build Community Labyrinth @ Sts. James & Andrew Campus Federal/Church Streets, Greenfield

Friday, May 31: Kirtan Shabbat Service @ CBI Northampton

There will be three Kirtan Shabbat services with Rabbi Andrew Hahn, sponsored by CBI. All the last Friday evening of the month from 6-7:30pm, with kiddish, food and maybe more singing afterwards. The kirtans will be held in the LGA auditorium. They will be free and open to all—no need to know Hebrew or be Jewish. Any help, though, with funding for the food would be so appreciated! Please contact Amy Meltzer, if you can volunteer, help, and/or have ideas for food funding.
 

Saturday June 22, 7 PM: Out! For Reel LGBTQ Comedy Show: The El-Salomons! @ Academy of Music Theatre, Northampton

Starring the funniest, smartest, Jewish-Palestinian, lesbian, feminist, married couple on Earth (hyperbole so noted), “The El-Salomons!” is a hilarious, must-see comedy show.
