We are very excited to dedicate the Trails at the back of Scarbrough Park in Honor of Vicky Tucker, our former Superintendent who passed away while battling cancer. Vicky loved the trails and the beauty the park brought to her life, which was a direct reflection of the beauty she brought to everyone she interacted with. In representation of that, the park will continue to exemplify that same beauty through this stone that will add to our park in so many ways.
The stone reads: Tucker Trails
In memory of Vicky (Vanderwall) Tucker
“Dearly beloved, we are gathered here together to get through this thing called life” -Prince-
When researching the lyrics that friends and family felt were most appropriate and are etched in the stone, an article of meaning was discovered, which brought life to the meaning behind it.
The beginning of this song is one of the most famous intros in pop history music. Prince takes the persona of a preacher and is joined by a church organ as he gives what amounts to a sermon, reminding us that we should enjoy this life, knowing that we can look forward to a world of never-ending happiness when we die.
Who and what this stone represents will forever be a representation of what Vicky (Vanderwall) Tucker brought to so many people. Thank You Vicky
