Hi and welcome to all the applicants joining the CER Internet Entrepreneurs 2020 Competition!
This month, we are featuring a startup from Germany that offers training with VR for paramedics, first responders and medical care.
The majority of paramedics at the German Red Cross are volunteers. The volunteers at the DRK are people who use their free time for people who are in need and who they usually do not know. For their voluntary work at DRK, the volunteers do not spend time with their families and friends. The use of VR enables learning regardless of time and location. This makes the training and further education of the volunteers much more flexible and, above all, more efficient (there is no need to travel to and from the DRK accommodation). With the project we are strengthening volunteer work at the DRK.
There are many training and further education courses that are very strictly standardized and are therefore ideal for digitization with VR. In the course of the project, we will also create new learning content through the use of VR, learning content that is only possible through the use of modern technology. The new learning content also includes VR content that is particularly aimed at people who have not yet decided to work full-time or on a voluntary basis for the DRK.
Works extremely well: Training with virtual reality from the DRK in Herford
The German Institute for Virtual Realities presented the DIVR Business Award in various categories for the first time in the course of the digitization summit of the Federal Government and the Digital Week in Dortmund. The winner of the "Best Impact" category is the DRK Kreisverband Herford-Stadt eV with its volunteer project Training with Virtual Reality (VR).
