NWSF UPDATES

Jo McNeal
Executive Director

Our societal climate is still continuing to change daily. There is hope that our states will be able to move into the next phase of our new normal. Many of my friends and family seem to be anxious and excited, yet reserved. As you discover your new normal remember these feelings are okay and we are here with you throughout this.

It is hard to know how much change one organization can take. We are certainly taking on many changes - move the Seattle walk, hosting Virtual Dinner and Show's, reducing Help$ grants and now we have another change for all our supporters...the walks are going VIRTUAL! Many are probably asking how, when, why...below are the answers.

The walk venue in Portland informed us they were not going to host any large events until October. This meant our walk was cancelled or would have to be moved to later in the year. In anticipation and being proactive versus reactive, our small but mighty team considered that Seattle's venue may do the same. We decided to take everything virtual and be able to "host" our walks across our region. We are encouraging EVERYONE in ANY state, especially AK, ID, MT, OR & WA to fundraise and join us on Dragonslayer Walk Weekend, September 18 - 20, 2020, to walk and post on social media your pictures, messages of hope, and your story of why you walk to end Sarcoma. To learn more, see the #DragonslayersUnite section in the newsletter or the website: www.dragonslayerwalk.com.

Please continue to follow CDC's stay-safe guidelines, our governments stay-home orders and we will get through.
