Dear Friends,

Happy summer!  For this edition we’ll keep the mood light and breezy — a quick market update followed by a handful of our warm weather favorites to help get you in the spirit of summer.
Currently, our market has slowed just slightly — still very active, yet not quite as frenzied as just a few weeks ago. Due to lifted travel restrictions it seems people are eagerly taking advantage of summer travel opportunities — this includes your friends at LDT — and perhaps less focused on making an immediate move. I also think some buyers and sellers are taking a break from what was until very recently a dizzyingly fast moving market. The result is more of normal seasonal market, with all signs indicating a typically strong fall market for our area.

We at LDT have experienced a bustling first half of the year. In terms of sales volume we have enjoyed our best year ever … and we still have 5+ months to go! Like many of you, we’ll certainly savor a little down time this summer before gearing back up to meet the fall demand.

The photo above — taken last August in Bethany Beach, DE — perfectly captures my ideal summer mood. A cool ocean breeze, a beautiful pink sky casting a warm glow on the water, my people close by — it was a magical evening.

May you all find time to slow down and enjoy your pink sky moment this summer.

Best wishes,

I am biased, but this house is located on the BEST street in Edgemoor (the one I grew up on). This charming home offers one-level living on an 11,000+ square foot lot. Open this coming Sunday from 1-3PM. Hope to see you there!

Beach Read
I love a good memoir!  Makes me want to take a road trip to Maine to eat in the author's restaurant, The Lost Kitchen.  But good luck to me, it is the toughest reservation to get in America.

Summer House Crush
As you know by now, Bethany Beach is my favorite summer getaway and this house would definitely do the trick!  I love the direct Bay access and western views.

Taste of Summer
When I think of summer, fresh tomatoes from the yard come to mind.  This "no cook" sauce is a favorite in our house. Try it!

Beach Read
Surfing, fame, fortune & drama. What more could you ask for in a summer read?

Summer House Crush
My son spends most of his summer at sleep-away camp in New Hampshire. My family and I have fallen in love with this state and this farmhouse truly encompasses all the New England charm that we adore!

Taste of Summer
My summer wouldn’t be complete without sweet corn from Jersey. Growing up, my sisters and I would get tasked with shucking the corn, it's still one of my favorite chores!

Beach Read
Perfect Beach Read. I love that all her stories are based in Nantucket! Another of my favorite summer trips.

Summer House Crush
This would be my dream summer house. Nothing is better than the mountains in the summer time. SO many activities and crisp mountain air make it the perfect place for family vacations.

Taste of Summer
Rasberries are the taste of summer for me. We used to pick them in my Grandma’s garden and serve them for desert with fresh whipped cream. So nostalgic.
