While there are currently restrictions on group activity, when Senior Action fully re-opens they will continue their important work to "encourage seniors to live life fully, surrounded by friends sharing the experience". We love this client and their mission. Senior Action has purchased a shopping center at 3715 East North Street that they will make their home and have retail space available for tenants that may serve the needs of seniors. We've been working on a shopping center upfit that will allow for expanded programming and house administrative offices, classrooms, art room, music room, fitness center, large event space with kitchen, and coffee bar. Enjoy these exterior renderings and interior palette in anticipation of what is to come. Construction to commence in April 2020.

Beck Middle School students win SchoolsNEXT competition in South Carolina! Mentored by a team of professionals, including CGD's Scott Powell and Ali McClure, the students researched and designed a school they named Roper Mountain Academy that addresses many contemporary learning needs including safety, sustainability, and reflecting the heritage of our city. Beck students took extra care in designing adequate space for special needs students, highlighted the importance of technology integration, and designed ample opportunity for learners to interact with science and nature, in part by placing their schools on the Roper Mountain Science Center campus. The students created a model of their design, a presentation of their process and results, and provided supporting documentation to illustrate their ideas. These students are eligible to represent SC at the regional A4LE conference.
Congratulations on all your hard work!
