2020 is the 220th anniversary of Millard Fillmore's birth
Join the Buffalo Presidential Center's year long look at the life and legacy of the  13th (1850-1853) president of the United States
The Buffalo Presidential Center is coordinating a year-long series of events and programs to commemorate the 220th birthday of our 13th President. All historical organizations and sites with connections to Millard and Abigail Fillmore are being invited to join with us throughout the year to highlight Fillmore's presidency and contributions to the greater Buffalo community. 

"MILL FILL 220" kicks off with the annual January 7th birthday graveside ceremonies and program at Forest Lawn.

Please join us at the Fillmore gravesite at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 for the 55th annual commemoration of the birth of President Millard Fillmore. Representatives from the Buffalo Presidential Center and several other organizations in which President Fillmore played a key role will join to honor him and his legacy.
A reception and brief program immediately following the graveside ceremony will take place in Forest Lawn's Margaret L. Wendt Archive and Visitor Center. 
This event is co-sponsored by the University of Buffalo.

Swiatek Elected BPC  Trustee
Jeffrey F. Swiatek is a partner at Hodgson Russ LLP, where he leads the firm’s Municipal Law and Education Law practices.  Mr. Swiatek served for 16 years as a Councilmember for the Town of Cheektowaga, and previously was Special Assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan in Washington, D.C.  Mr. Swiatek served as President of the New York State School Attorneys Association for the 2018 term, and is an adjunct professor at the University of Buffalo.  Mr. Swiatek graduated from Canisius College (B.A. International Relations) and the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D.)

On September 17th Courtney Speckmann, BPC Board of Trustee's member and former Director of Education for the White House Museum Association, gave an educational  and engaging presentation to large crowd in the Ring of Knowledge at the Central Library.  Her talk, titled "Inside the White House: Over 200 Years as Home, Office and Stage," explored the history of the White House with special focus on Millard Fillmore's and Grover Cleveland's time spent there.
