MEADOW SPORTS FC
SUMMER UPDATE

Welcome

Welcome to a special Meadow Sports FC Summer update, which will provide you with the latest news about the phased return of grassroots football and our plans for next season.  Please scroll down for more details.  Don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and our website, links at the bottom of the page.

CHAIRMAN'S CORNER

Dear all

I hope that you are all keeping safe and well and are looking forward to the return of grassroots football. You will have received an email from us on Tuesday about the new guidelines from the FA for this phased return.  It is really important that you read these guidelines and our guidance sent out to managers and coaches, as by confirming your child's attendance at training (or from August competitive matches), parents or carers are confirming that they have read the FA Guidance and are content for their child to take part in the activities being offered by Meadow Sports and the measures the Club has put in place to manage any Covid-19 risks in line with FA and Government guidance.  You can read the email and guidelines by clicking the RE-STARTING OUTDOOR COMPETITIVE GRASSROOTS FOOTBALL - SUMMARY PHOTO BELOW.

Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard on completing the necessary risk assessment and meeting the guidelines for both the return of training and the partial re-opening of the clubhouse.  We have been lucky enough to have a dedicated band of volunteers that have put in a lot of work to get the toilets compliant and set up a "pop-up" bar.  The toilets will only be open until the end of July as we then need to close the clubhouse for refurbishment.  Our pop-up bar will be open tonight and next Friday, the 31st of July.

On Saturday the 1st of August MSOW (Meadow Sports & Old Wokingians)  will be holding a COMMUNITY FOOTBALL FIX UP DAY, where we will be looking for volunteers to come and help us with the renovation and decorating of the clubhouse.  We will also be asking for help in sorting out old kits.  We hope to screen the FA Cup Final and have our pop-up bar open in the afternoon.  Please see below for more information on the Fix Up Day and how you can get involved.in creating a clubhouse the whole community can be proud of.

As previously mentioned, there will be new kits for teams next season that didn’t get one this season, but for us to do this we need any old Nike kits returned to your manager / parent rep as soon as possible please.  Please note that we do not need last year's U7s Nike kit returned as this was brand new last season.  Also, anyone that had a new Pendle kit last season, we do not need these returned.  If you can return the kits at training this week then managers or parent reps will be able to bring them to our Fix Up Day where they can be sorted and managers can begin the process of ordering new kits, together with our new Kit Co-ordinator Lisa.

If you haven't already registered your child for the new season, please complete this as soon as possible.  Completing the registration early helps managers put plans in place for their teams and enables them to order new kit in good time.  Please note that until a player has registered with Meadow Sports FC they will not be registered with the relevant League and will be unable to play in any League games.  Registration information and a link to the online form is below.

At our Annual General Meeting we were able to elect or re-elect all but one of our vital club roles.  More information on the volunteers filling these committee and support roles is below.

With the help of one of our key volunteers Kelly Harvey, we now have an exciting way to raise funds for MSFC at a time when holding events is challenging!  You can now support us and be in with a chance of winning up to £25,000 in our weekly Sports Club Lottery.  Please see the flyer and link below for more information.  Good luck everyone!

I look forward to seeing some of you at training sessions, our Fix Up Day or in the new season.  Have a good summer and a relaxing break

All the best
Karl
