Great Lakes MHTTC Survey on Telehealth in Behavioral Health

The COVID-19 pandemic has increased the use of telehealth services for treating behavioral health conditions. Federal agencies relaxed restrictions on delivering mental health or substance use disorder services via platforms such as Zoom or Skype. In addition, a federal waiver now allows Medicaid to cover telehealth services for mental health.

The Great Lakes ATTC and the Great Lakes MHTTC are conducting a research study to explore the use of for behavioral health services in the COVID-19 era. The purpose of the study is to assess the pros and cons of telehealth for behavioral health, as well as the likelihood that organizations will continue to offer telehealth once the pandemic has passed.
