Basic Hydrogeology

This 1  day course is designed to increase the participant's knowledge in basic hydrogeology principles which includes aquifers, groundwater flows direction and remediation, sources and migration of contaminants, water chemistry, and groundwater under the direct influence of surface water (GUDI).

Computer Basics for Operators
Dec 20-21        8:30-4pm

Instructor: Julie Hawkins

This 2  day course is designed to increase the participants' computer proficiency and assist them in performing their duties in the workplace. Students will gain computer knowledge and skills by completing several computer assignments and projects, with guidance from the instructor.

The Water Sector often reminds me of the idyllic location people visit in their summer holidays, fall in love with and quickly get a romantic notion about how nice it would be to live there year round. The local blithely respond "try spending a winter here before you make up your mind".

Rankin Inlet seeks proposals to Replace Failing Water Infrastructure

The Government of Nunavut has issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to produce a feasibility study to determine solutions for the replacement of aged and failing water infrastructure in Rankin Inlet.

In June, Water Canada reported that Nunavut faces a water security crisis due to lack of organizational structure and poor water resource management.
