Congratulations to The August Superintendent's Award Recipients
Assistant Principal John Gunderson (Fair View High School), Principal Andrew Moll (Fair View High School) and Chase Chevallier (Instructor at Fair View High School) received the Superintendent's Award. They were recognized for their dedication to alternative education and their successful student growth and accomplishments.

Pleasant Valley High School was invited to the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Capitol Leadership in Washington, D.C. During Capitol Leadership, students will receive training focusing on networking, professionalism, strategic planning and advocacy around key teen-centered current issues.
Educational Services provided updates on the first ten days of school
The District Incident Response Team provided a recap of the First Responder Drills that occurred at both Pleasant Valley and Chico High Schools over the summer
A public hearing was held for Chico Country Day School's Charter Petition Renewal
Final updates were provided to the 2018/19 Local Control Accountability Plan
School Services of California presented an in-depth analysis of Chico Unified School District's Special Education Program. The goal was to examine the effectiveness of the program compared to comparable school districts and to identify possible opportunities for maximizing program funding and services
The Board approved an increase in substitute teacher pay to remain competitive with other school districts
Board Policy 5141.21 - Administering Medication and Monitoring Health Conditions was brought forward for a first reading and will be brought to the Board for discussion at the September 4, 2019 Board Workshop
