Clinical Trials BC Joins Decentralized Trials & Research Alliance (DTRA)
- By Alison Orth, Unit Director
Decentralized clinical trials (DCTs) utilize technology, processes, and services to collect data in a way that reduces or eliminates the need for patients to physically visit the trial site. DCTs enable the participation of rural, remote, and other harder to reach populations, facilitate involvement of a broader range of health care providers in clinical trials, and reduce costs and burden of clinical trial conduct.
To assist our efforts to build capacity for decentralized clinical trials in BC, Clinical Trials BC has joined in "an international membership alliance of more than 100 life sciences and healthcare organizations that seek to accelerate the broad adoption of patient-focused, decentralized clinical trials and research."
